I can go next week or the week after
Remind me of the rules - Is this just new music or anything loved by myself that you lot will probably never heard of?

For my Friday selection, a change of style and character. Nashville is home to many fantastic musicians. It is also a blue oasis in an extremely red state. When, last year, the Tennessee passed a draconian anti trans law (including a law banning shows with men dressed as women where kids might see them), these guys got together for a one night show to raise funds to help the trans community, playing Grateful Dead music (yes, I had to include the Dead somewhere in here) dressed in drag. They called it Grateful Drag and they called the band Bertha after a great Dead rock and roll song. Melody Walker (the singer in blue) is a well known songwriter in Bluegrass circles, collaborating with Sierra Ferrell, Molly Tuttle (Crooked Tree), Billy Strings and many others. Her husband, Jacob Groopman is playing bass. They were part of a progressive bluegrass band that came to La Roche in about 2015 called Front Country and we get to hang sometimes in Nashville. Bertha became a real success just on that one show (at Dee's in East Nashville) and have started touring in between their individual solo careers. I love what they stand for, the songs they play and the joie de vivre in how they perform. Here is Bertha playing Bertha And have a great time in Nashville Sir B3na1i

thank you Chris, I'm not sure I liked all of your stuff but it was great to hear and there was a couple of tracks I really did look up the artists and get some more music. I'll be taking over next week, I don't have a theme, but now spot51 has decided it should be hi-fi related tunes… He's thrown me into a complete spin because basically I hadn't even thought of that… But it's quite a good idea… I'm not really sure that you would be all that keen on hi-fi testing tracks though… I will think about it over the weekend. I've already got at least 2 weeks if not more of tracks I've got to whittle down so this is going to be a bit of a challenge!

Like Tone I changed a couple on the way through. I started Monday and will do one more tomorrow, leaving Sunday as a day of rest ...

I've already thought of my next theme and it's going to be side hustles... Artists from bands that I love who have either spun out on their own, joined another band or done a little on the side thing whilst still in their main band

Plenty of that going in Bluegrass

Here is my last one that I know threehundred will enjoy as he has talked about Chris Thile. Here is his incredible cover of Dylan's Don't Think Twice It's Alright. Just Chris and his mandolin. I first saw him live over 20 years ago with his teen band Nikel Creek and wrote to my (conductor) brother "Mozart is alive and well and he plays the mandolin".

I’m very familiar with this…needless to say, I think it is brilliant. This was the only good thing to happen on Saturday.

Please don't be constrained by a throwaway remark.

Right, here we go… because people are having themes for their week I thought I wouldn't…
… So this is just random from my list, of which I could do a month let alone a week.
the first band up is a bit of a surprise, I'm even surprised, I discovered this band through my daughter, she doesn't have the same musical taste as I do although she has a wide-ranging of artist she listens to, she got me to hear this extremely unusual band and I couldn't get it out of my head.
As a group of individuals, they are interesting, they are very eclectic, some of them are definitely non-binary and their name was invented by a friend of theirs who had major surgery and was on a morphine drip at the time.
So with no further ado… I present to you: "Rainbow Kitten Surprise" with the track "It's Called: Freefall".
