Bree - harsh red card but my word he really isn’t very good as a footballer. Run forward. Check back. Lose momentum. Pass back. Lose possession. Caught out of position. Sent off. Look perplexed.

Is there any logical reason why we didn't sub off an attacking player and bring on KWP after Bree was sent off? Surely any sane manager brings on a replacement defender when one is sent off? Their winner came from an attacking in the acres of space where our RB would have been playing, if we had one on the pitch...

He was great but in both games he was blowing out of his arse after about 60 minutes... We had the likes of Aribo/Rothwell/Smallbone on the bench across both games and we played a good player until he became a net negative to the team.

Losing a point made no difference to us as only 3 gave us a chance at automatic promotion so we went 3-3-3. That chance has now gone so our aim is now to stay in the top six for a shy at the play-offs. Has all that funny foreign sport addled you football brain, Sir?

well, we all know why we lost that don't we… It's been mentioned here before. I can't be bothered talking about it as other people have already mentioned it. I will say though, the beard and his substitution and second-half strategies are nearly always something that the team have to fight against rather than benefit from. Ipswich are on the up… But they will be like Luton next year. Which tells you a little bit about what we would be like… Im glad we are not going up - We would make last season look like winning the treble. Downside is we are likely to be down for a while - specially post parachute payments. And we will be playing Portsmouth next season. They will be up for it.

The reality was that win, lose or draw last night we were never going to finish top 2. That horse has bolted. Taking away a point, when down to 10 men, against a team who have more chance than us of going up would have been worth more than the point in terms of the overall good it would done our promotion push. ANOTHER loss has left a pretty toxic atmosphere amongst Saints fan. When even glass one tenth fullists like channonite are starting -ve threads then you know there's something badly wrong at the club. There are times when you have to put ideals behind you and be realistic and taking a point last night would have put us in a far better position than we are in now for the playoff run.

While I agree a point is better than 0 (what we got!) I did feel that if we could take 9 from the three above us we would go up automatically. That was a huge ask (clearly) but was the only way it would happen. I still don't get our subs lately though. They used to change games for the positive, now they don't - and yet it's the same, if not better (Brooks) players

Every 2nd half seems to follow a similar pattern whether we are 1-0 down, 2-1 up, 2-0 down... in the 2nd half we lose control of the game more, its more end to end, we bring on attacking subs and try to out attack the other team. With pretty mixed results.

I wouldn’t mind the play offs if our record against the other teams near the top was better. As it is I don’t see how we’re going to prevail since we’ve gone so flaky near the tail end of the season.
Maybe Baz is brilliant at stopping penalties and will prove his worth in a shoot out?

Maybe Baz is brilliant at stopping penalties and will prove his worth in a shoot out? Can you imagine! He saves a penalty or two and becomes an immovable presence and cult hero. Argh. Don't get me wrong, I like the lad and can see why he's in the team in this system but he really has to save shots as well as pass a ball, it's a minimum requirement for a keeper

I think I preferred it when Saints were the side scoring late and snatching points at the death.

Quite the opposite, I'm at my happiest when we are doing as well as can reasonably be expected. It's you dozy feckers who seem to love it when we are underachieving!

Well it certainly seems to have perked you up I think we're all capable of a gripe, but it seemed churlish to moan too much when we were on a record breaking unbeaten run. But I think there were concerns lurking about Hairboy and the Irish mist. Ultimately the decision to stick with Baz and failing to buy/loan a striker in Jan when it became clear we'd bought a striker made of candyfloss is the problem and some of that is RM, some of that is on Willycocks and SR.

Ipswich play to their strengths while we play to our weaknesses.
