Can't trust that day....
Watched a chunk of the NZ v SL cricket yesterday - very entertaining. GP was good too. Typical of Shortarse to talk about taking Montreal's GP away - let's not have proper circuits with proper racing FFS; just give us more bland car parks in third world shitholes!
Watched the Dan Snow D-Day prog last night. Pretty good I thought. Remember I was talking about our friend Harry who was with the Commandos at Dieppe? I was interested to see that many Canadians still resent the awful waste of (largely Canadian) lives at that raid. At least it taught the D-Day planners what not to do. Few years back, Edna arranged for a tree to be planted in Harry's memory at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. She requested it be planted in the RM section but was told that was full and they'd "find a place for it". When we visited, we found Harry's tree was sited right next to the Canadian Dieppe memorial. Rather apt.
Got various medical things to do this week (Boo!) and plenty of work still required in the garden. Indeed, plenty to do indoors if the threatened rain arrives.
Gloria Estefan. Oily fish I think.

Well bugger. The weekend was smashing, and now this.
Spent yesterday in Gisport watching Netball, it was sunny but breezy and never got hot enough to take my sweatshirt off, but I was careful to keep a hat on. Still, when I got home I found a rather odd sunburn pattern on my face.
Got to make tea.

Morning
Got my hedge cutting done yesterday and spent the rest of the day pottering around the garden. Taking a tour of the attic space that the public don't normally get to see tomorrow, so I have got to work out what to say today. The difficult bit is not to over-run the 45 mins allotted time per tour.
I enjoyed the GP yesterday, in spite of Vettel disappearing into the distance. Lots of overtaking. Massa seemed to be overtaking more than most.
Pleased to see Ramirez come out and say that he will be staying put and not clearing off to Italy as some have been suggesting. Also, an interesting interview with Forren, in which he said that because of the strange Norwegian season, finishing before he was signed, he is only now starting his pre season and will be ready for the pre season games with Saints. He has been told that he had been bought with a view to the 2013-14 season, rather than to figure in last season.I think I understand....
Right, tea.

Morning all. There are rumblings on Twitter of a Saints prezzer in the offing but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I worked on Saturday and took it easy yesterday. I'm at work today but off tomorrow. I can't wait. It'll be my last day off for a couple of months as I'm very short of leave now.
I missed last night's D Day prog but I've set tonight's up to record.
I'm going to be a bit late for work because Miss Y kept having mishaps this morning. Roll on home time.

Morning Chaps
Up since 4 as we had to see little MissE off on the ferry to France this morning, 9 seems awfully young to be going away for a week but she was pretty non plussed about the whole affair. Some kids there seemed much more attached to their parents and had to be peeled off and put on to the coach - I'm telling myself that we have raised an independent young woman not that she's glad to be away from us!
On the plus side MrsE has promised her a room revamp by the time she gets home so I'll be too knackered to miss her as I crawl from bed, to work, to decorating and back to bed for a week!

Morning all; grey again, like yesterday.. was well p'd off about that after the boiling sun all week that I was stuck inside for. wasters.
Still, at least it didn't rain so managed to get the garden more presentable; my arm hurts from the strimming though. Didn't have the planned bbq in the end, but still had the pulled pork and finally got round to watching the final Sopranos ep (if you recall the Mrs deleted it off + a while back) and the Eng cricket highlights.
A bit discombobulated this morning, had a difficult phonecall with my dad yesterday (you think he'dve come to terms with the fact I'm not going to be the PM or head of Barclays or whatever he thought I should be by now ffs.) as if life wasn't hard enough without that sort of shit; and then found out Iain Banks died. RIP and thanks for all the tall tales.
Got to meet the bathroom people this evening too to argue about the bits we don't think they've done and they think they have; not looking forward to that.
Busy week ahead too, I fancy...
Shit coffee, marmitey toast.

Went camping at the weekend with family, relatives and all the little (and some now not so little) cousins. Nice time but the temperatures (in Northamptonshire) were stupid - sitting out BBQing in 9 degrees with a stiff north-easterly taking it down to about 2-3 - dressed in four layers and you could see your breath. But it has to be done.
Also there was a beer festival, so we tried several, and I can now confidently say that a good real ale is one you can force down without actively gagging. Cider was good though.

Is this thread supposed to be some sort of diary so we can all see what the other is up to, or has done? My life is very boring - I can't imagine anyone would be interested in it......
