qualification? Interesting to see that Guillem Balague is currently doing his UEFA "A" licence. Some other, more familiar, faces on that bench!

Is that our old keeper Maik Taylor on the left? It's funny that he was still playing PL football long after his replacement Paul Jones was a forgotton memory!

David Dunn next to him and Mendieta (sp?) in the middle. Struggling on the rest... (unless that's Joey Barton under the (wrong way around) baseball cap???
Do we have to think of him as less of a t wat if he's done his badges??

Interesting that a Spanish football journalist will have better qualifications than half of the managers in the Premiership.

Any idea how it works in Spain, Germany Italy etc. I know they have a shed load more qualified coaches generally but do the managers of their clubs have to be qualified to get the job. Any idea what MoPo or Adkins have....just curious.

They are much more concerned about the qualifications although there are still exceptions that sneak through on the "qualified by experience" or "Kevin Keegan" rule as it should be known. They want to see a head coach/manager that has the qualifications rather than simply being a figurehead who employs qualified staff. (see KK or HR or a fair few others that have kicked around the top of English football for a long time.
I don't know what either have no. I'd be very, very surprised if both didn't have "A" at the very least and more than likely the full "pro" licence with a few add ons. It would be interesting to know, for example, whether NA had the goalkeeping coaching accreditations.

Funnily enough the only one I recognised straight away was Balague!

Have we heard of all of them? There are a few I still don't recognise.
I only got JB because I knew he was on the course with GB, thanks to Twitter.
We know GB is mates with MoPo. Maybe they stay up late discussing tictacs over a cold Estrella Damm?

A pedant writes: Isn't "forgotten memory" an oxymoron? You can't forget something and remember it at the same time. Sorry SF. No slight intended. I understand and agree with the sentiment of your post. I'll get my coat.

Memory is the process of encoding, storing and retrieving information. A large number of items are encoded and stored but can no longer be retrieved, so I guess they are forgotten memories.

Memory, remember, memo, memorise, remembrance etc. all have the common root of "mem" (from meminisse = to remember). A memory implies the thought process of remembering a piece of information. My point was that it is impossible to forget and remember a particular piece of information simultaneously. But hey lets agree to differ . We don't want a mong board type spat about semantics.
