I see that there are plans afoot for Beautiful South to make some sort of comeback this season and the (rather uninspired choice of names) The Saints Fanzine will be back as well.
I remember a time when they provided all the latest news in a rather irreverent fashion. Exactly the sort of thing that the message boards do now.
I am not sure what market they are aiming at now and what message they are trying to get across, but I always buy one anyway.
Who remembers them all and what do you remember about them?

I used to buy tons of footer fanzines, and had regular trips to Sportspages in London to buy them; I also liked to pick up fanzines from away games as well as the different Saints ones on the way to The Dell. I don't know how many are left now, but I've stopped getting footer ones, I don't even buy Saints ones, I just stick to When Saturday Comes, which isn't really a fanzine any more, but retains the humour and original feel of what made them so readable.

I sold issues of Red Stripe (fanzine not the lager) outside the Dell once in exchange for a ticket.

I guess the market is very much the half time bored crowd - I don't know about you but I hate half time, so anything that occupies the mind/eyes/hands and keeps me from having to listen to that prat doing the 'entertainment for 15 minutes is welcome

I thought The Saints Fanzine was good, albeit with a particularly uninspired name as you say! His blog was generally interesting as well but died about this time last year. Do we, the collective, know why?
EDIT: I have issues 1-4 on my desk!

Something to occupy myself with at halftime. Coincidentally, last week while I was clearing up some stuff in my shed I came across a postcard sized flyer that I'd been given outside the Dell from TUI informing me that they were just about to go 'online'. Goodness knows what year that would have been but it does seem a long time ago.

Did the flyer tell you that all humour would be left at the door and it would become a place for a handful of depressives and ego maniacs to bang on and on about the same things day after day?

I have the first UI somewhere, which was a proper old school cut and paste job. And also one of the first issues of Tone's fanzine 'Suspect Device' with MC4 on the cover, issue 3 or 4 maybe, Tone?
