Can we all just shut the feck up about him please?
Just watched the highlights from the weekend and im almost in tears with joy at watching such a sumptuous performance of virtuosity from our Adam. Streets ahead our best player since Matty, and with time on his side for the first time I actually believe he could become as good as our erstwhile tubby hero.
Anyway, as I said, STFU about Adam!

I'll tell you what, I'll STFU about him, I'll even risk incurring the wrath of the rest of the forum by pointing out that whilst he's a very good player, he's only able to put those performances in because of some exceptionally talented players around him - in particular the unsung hero of the season so far, David Connelly. His movement, touch, communication and ability creates so much time and space for Lallana to operate in that it would be difficult NOT to look good. Lambert has also improved his all-round game beyond measure to help in exactly the same manner.
It's because we have players of that quality around him that he's able to shine, not the other way around.

Not incurring my wrath by saying that; i entirely agree. It's no coincidence that the majority of great players tend to play in excellent teams. Matty is the only exception that I can think of.

WTF are you lot talking about? He's shite, I don't know why we even bother playing him, I'd rather have Pulis in the team...

I'd have said enormous natural ability along with tremendous fitness and application come into it too. Actually, I'd say the most impressive thing about him is his play when he has very little space to work with. Connolly is certainly not unsung in the Kingsland, block 32, row GG.

This WILL get me drummed off the forum - he has ability, loads of it, and he is capable in a tight space but he tends to play with his head down and the end product from those runs/dribbles is usually piss-poor. It's when he's offered the space to carry and shoot or just given one player to round and then shoot that he's supremely good. That's why Connelly and Lambert are so important, because they give him that space to move into and create the opportunity for him. His use of the ball otherwise is not particularly good.

You haven't mentioned all the assists he gets through his eye for the killer pass. We have seen through-balls like the one for Chaplow on Sunday time after time during his short career. Are you saying that, in a congested midfield, he loses the ball too frequently? If so, I'd agree, although I'd suggest that he makes up for it with his ability to emerge from a crowd of players with the ball at his feet. Yet this is merely what seperates him from greats like Zidane, who could do everything Adam does as well as pulling the strings from central areas. Reading your post, it seems to pigeonhole him as a player who is very good at beating one man then getting a shot off, which I think is slightly unfair. 13 assists last season, and 5 already this time. While I agree that he doesn't have the ability to play long, raking passes like, for example, Schneiderlin, and concedes possession in the middle third of the pitch too often, his use of the ball in the final third is often lethal. Whatever the case, he is an outstanding player at this level.

Honestly, after 60 odd minutes on Sunday I mentioned to my buddy that I'd thought he had had a very quiet game (goal notwithstanding). He was poor during Brum's spell and both the free kick award and Carr's free run were arguably down to him.....He then proceeded to absolutely amazing for 15 minutes....
Quite unbeleivably I was discussing him with a big Cov City fan I know through work who has never heard of him, I just do not quite understand how he has stayed off the radar.....

For all Adam's many fans watch this and enjoy
NB I don't think Carr thought much of his skills though

Shirls, sounds like you are in the row in front of me... I'm block 32 row HH. Think I'm around seat 770 or something like that (can't be arsed to trudge upstairs to get my season ticket to find out).

I had a great view of that move he pulled on carr, it was a right piss take indeed, very funny (and especially funny because Adam didn't really get hurt by it)
