Morning. Wet out. Normal weather is resumed. Spent yesterday sat in the garden sunshine reading a proper book. Well, actually it was Dissolution by C.J.Sansom. This was a free book produced for World Book Night 2011 (read about it at www.worldbooknight.org). Every copy is numbered and you register it online and post a review, then pass the copy onto someone else. Not the most amazing book I have ever read, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Maybe the sunshine coloured my judgement .. I see from the website that the list of books for next year is due to be announced next week. Off to work in a bit. Training again, so will not be around much today.

Morning all. I'm looking forward to a day off work tomorrow but I need to do loads of jobs around the flat so no rest for me.
I watched a new Hammer horror called Wake Wood last night. It had Aidan Gillen and Timothy Spall in it. It was going forma Wicker Man vibe but was too ludicrous to be genuinely scary and you could see the twists coming a mile off.
Is the summer officially over now? I'll have to invest in a new winter coat.
It's a long wait for the next Saints game. I'll just have to make sure I remember to get Reading tickets. I don't think I can afford SLF next week or West Ham the week after too.
I'm a bit fed up with work at the moment. I've been nearly two and a half years in this job and starting to get itchy feet. There aren't many jobs going unfortunately.
On the plus side, at least Amanda Knox will be roaming the streets...

Marnin'...yeah grey in the Palace today, no rain though and hopeful it will cheer up a bit. Big decision today, to make an offer on a house that is a bit of a stretch but we can live in forever, great garden, off street parking and a good school, or be more conservative and go for something smaller, and might need to move in a couple of years?

Good morning to all,
I am on holidays later this month (Cuba) so combined with the international break I am going to miss the West Ham, Reading & Middlesbrough games. That’s almost a month without football! Given some of the wonderful football I have watched recently I am loathed to miss any game for fear that when I go back the purple patch has ended.
Into work early this morning, first coffee of the day in hand. Let the day begin.

Morning all. Grey and dim here. Got to start the writing of a white paper today, whatever the buggerfuck one of them is. Anyone got any deep insight they can give me into how to calculate ROI on implementing a P2P system?
Yates, glad you have reviewed Wake Wood for us... We thought of watching it last night but eventually decided to save it for another night. Don't think we'll bother now. Watched Knight and Day instead, which oddly I found vaguely entertaining for most of it but it ended in the most buttock-clenching cheesiness, to the point where it made me feel uncomfortable. It was almost as if they sacked the writers with 5 minutes to go and replaced them with the director's 13 year old daughter who came up with an idea for a finish which would have been good as an ending to a school essay, but not in a Cruise/ Diaz high budget fillum.
Hope our players are starting to enjoy their break. After the last 2 week break, the players came out all guns a'blazin, so hopefully Derby are going to feel the full force of Rickie's Rocket.
Oh and Simmo, go ferrit. Got to take a gamble from time to time, and it means you won't be paying yet another lump sum to the government in a few years time.

What Ho Championship Warriors
It's still bright and reasonably clear in Sussex(E) - hopefully it'll be this way for much of the day. The East course again today. And my first proper match on Thursday - assuming that it doesn't get cancelled like it did last month.
Batts asked ... "Anyone got any deep insight they can give me into how to calculate ROI on implementing a P2P system?..... " Perhaps Del or Stu on TUI can; they're forever trying to impress each other and the world outside with their business acumen. Are they both on a mission to dull down the world?
Monday night seems to have turned out to be my TV time recently - Universally Challenged, Only Connect followed by the Sandhurst documentary which finished last night. I think they struggled to get any kind of decent narrative going in that but that was self-imposed as they produced it as if it was a kind of Big Brother clone. Could have done much better, BBC!
Tea required
Have a good day, y'all

morning all, I'm not used this greyness, where's the sun gone?
What's the definitive IBO version of Amanda Knox story? To be honest I completely avoided looking at it as I thought "OJ" when the PR got started but was I being unfair, did she really not do it?
Simmo, house prices just keep on falling, when everything hits the fan with Greece it's going to go even lower, do you really need to move right now?
Have a look in a while if I was you?
Anyway, football, pivotal month, end of...

Very important month coming up, can set up our season. When do Palace tickets go on sale and can I get more than one?
As for moving I agree with Batts & Crash, hence the confusion, not sure this is the right time to gamble...anyways I'll keep yers posted.

Good Morning Earthlings
Autumn must be here - I'm getting my flu jab today. I popped into the dentist yesterday with a couple of little niggles. £193 later I was back on the street with two major fillings. Glad Axa will be paying for most of that FFS!
Interesting talk at IOWFHS last night on Wight Women at War. The guy who delivered it is a relation of Wyatt Earp (Tombstone Fact).
Got the bottom lawn done yesterday and the strimmer only fecked-up twice (a record). Weather is still OK here so will try and get the top one done before it all goes tits-up.
Wish me luck!

I am still here and not at work. When I went to have a shower (It's a power shower thingy) there was hot water coming through the cold water feed!
Anyway the upshot was that the cold water feed to the hot tank is blocked, presumably with more fecking soil. Thanks a bunch Wessex Water. Sat here waiting for a phone call from them.

Bit late this morning, and I've only just made my second cup of tea of the day.
It's quite bright and sunny here.
Music on the way in was something old, something new, something borrowed, but nothing Blue.
