Well, you can all fret about the minutiae of VAR, but excuse me for not being bothered by it.

WALOB. You are as bad as those gimps. Move on FFS. How can it be bollux Spot? Even channonite has admitted that it's madness that the cameras have such a poor frame rate. How on earth can anyone sane person justify taking away a goal when the tech cannot prove that the player actually was off-side? It's just (a lack of) common sense. Before the Geneva Convention it was usual for the winning side to comb the battlefield. Mostly, they were looking for booty but sometimes they'd come upon wounded soldiers. If they were from your side you'd try to help, or at least make them comfortable. If they were enemies, they'd despatch them with fixed bayonets. This was not being cruel but ensuring the victory. If dead, they could not keep re-fighting battles that were already lost. That's you that is.

At the present rate we are going to end up in 14th place but 25 points clear of relegation!! It's going to be really tight in the positions from 10th-14th. It will be vitally important to try to get up as high as we can given how poor our financial position is. With almost £2m per position this could be the difference between us being able to sign a player or not. I agree. It looks like what we're fighting for now is whether we can gain an additional £8-10m... in other words a defender of similar quality to Hoedt... it's really not that inspiring is it If it's just another Hoedt can we suggest to the club that the £8m is just given to the fans in the form of a dividend? (I actually said the above as a joke, but working out the figures if we say 30,000 fans that works out £266 each. I think the club owes us that for the past few seasons.)

VAR is a great talking point! Now this thread has lurched that way it is the first 4 pager we've had in months!
As a simple question can anyone please tell me what is the problem to which VAR is the solution?
It definitely isn't 'how can you rid football of controversy, bad and incorrect decisions and feelings the fans have of being hard-done by' as if anything it has made all of these more frequent and worse than when the decisions were made by the ref on the pitch.

To add my pennies worth; VAR - In the scheme of things who cares ? Water breaks- Clock doesn't stop -circa 8 mins lost. Who cares ? We're safe- This I care about. What we, as a club, have achieved this season is phenomenal. We were "Broken" first third of the season & now ? Sell Saints to another £££ consortium & carry on. Clubs will lose revenue - Wigan, etc etc etc the money is ruining sport as it is worldwide. We all have no choice but to see that's the way it is now and enjoy whatever sporting team we like at whatever level we choose.

It definitely isn't 'how can you rid football of controversy, bad and incorrect decisions and feelings the fans have of being hard-done by' as if anything it has made all of these more frequent and worse than when the decisions were made by the ref on the pitch. May I respectfully comment ? It isn't "The first 4 pager we've had in months" The current posting followers on this forum, circa 36, have their own opinions which is laudable. We are all Saints Fans. We do not wish to resort to the quagmire of TUI. We all have an opinion. In the current scheme of things VAR, doesn't matter. In my very humble opinion. We all have a choice. I'm sure that opinions will vary amongst us. That's life. I believe we have the opportunity to form a "Saints Gentlemans Club." Men's clubs were a scene of gossip. The clubs were designed for communication and the sharing of information with each other. By gossiping, bonds were created which were used to confirm social and gender boundaries. Gossiping helped confirm a man's identity, both in his community and within society at large. It was often used as a tool to climb the social ladder. It revealed that a man had certain information others did not have. It was also a tool used to demonstrate a man's masculinity. It established certain gender roles. Men told stories and joked. The times and places a man told stories, gossiped, and shared information were also considered to show a man's awareness of behaviour and discretion. Clubs were places where men could gossip freely. Gossip was also a tool that led to more practical results in the outside world. There were also rules that governed gossip in the clubs. These rules governed the privacy and secrecy of members. Clubs regulated this form of communication so that it was done in a more acceptable manner

The problem isn't Var. The problem is the laws. They can't change the laws mid season. They will change them in the summer. We knew it would take time to work out the issues. It'll be fine in time for us to rejoin the EU.

Other than the Covid coping sticky this is the first thread that's hit four pages since a political thread last posted on in May. I checked. Not sure what the relevance of your TUI quagmire comment was. I can't see any hint of people being rude or nasty to each others in this or any recent thread on here.

Quite I don't care about the other shite either, or indeed what happens with other clubs (other than a mild preference of who I'd like to go down and not win the league.. neither of which are likely), all the rest is just decoration.
