VAR was supposed to get rid of the cock-ups, but doesn't (eg Villa-Sheff Utd) and is not sensitive enough to deal with marginal off-sides - when did the pass leave the foot?? If you have to look at it for 3 minutes from 9 different angles to spot a possible 5mm off-side then it is a goal. And it favours the defender most of the time. And this 'handball' crap. Last night when Mahres' shot brushed the arm of someone who had fallen over, totally unaware of it, no intent, did not alter the flight of the ball one bit - but no. Great goal disallowed. Hand ball. What is the point of this? VAR was not at fault for the Blades goal being missed - that was the goal line technology that notified the ref that the ball was over the line while he was having his HT cuppa. Nor was VAR to blame for the handball decisions. That is a rule change that now treats handballs by defenders and attackers differently and VAR only helps to see those incidents. Time to LOCK THIS THREAD channonite or we'll be fixing bayonets to cull the remoaners.

It is odd that views are as polarised about VAR as they are about Brexit (Now that IS a cock-up of gigantic proportions, which we have hardly started to feel the effects of yet), but I am happy to let it run a bit yet, as I am yet to be in the slightest bit convinced by those arguing that it should be done away with.

They were at it on Football Focus today. Alex Scott said FIFA are to review feedback and, if necessary, implement VAR changes but not before the 21/22 season. So can we all STFU and stop the continual bleating. It is what it is. If you don't like it, watch egg chasing.

Gonna be an interesting run in this... both relegation and europe.
I hope we can sneak into the top half, then sign Messi as it sounds like he fancies a go in the premier league..

Agreed -it's as tight as a ducks arse at the bottom-scuse the pun . Perm any team from 5 . Norwich will need a miracle. I would settle for a point tomorrow, at the very least, stick up an 11 man defence & lose by 3. I can see 7 points from our remaining fixtures. Who knows ? It's so hard to call with Saints at the best of times.

Just watched Watford's capitulation, and much as it pains me to say it, they definitely do not deserve to stay up at Bournemuff's expense.

I’ve never liked Watford since one of their breed smacked a mate during the Semi Final.
Pearson sacking & Puel a replacement !
Championship would be a fitting end to the season.

Final day Everton v Bournemouth West Ham v Villa Arsenal v Watford
Tough one to call, I can see Bournemouth winning, don’t think Watford Will get anything, unsure about Villa, I think 14-1 for Bournemouth to stay up is generous
