Well, I wasn't expecting that. What the heck is rong with this team. There is just no way we should be able to go from good, to abject, to brilliant so fast. It cannot be about St. Mary's. Surely this has to be down to the tactics no? And surely thus, we can change these tactics pretty pronto. we won, enjoy it

Several surprises there. I don't know anything about Jankewiz. Don't know about Armstrong either theallseeingeye I would guess that's tactical, or a slight injury. Weird Al? Wasn't he the bloke who did comedy covers of Micheal Jackson songs?

Ralph is a superb manager & long may he stick around😇 No analysis on a football forum please! The fact is that something weird is happening when we're 5th in the away table, but 20th in the home table and it needs sorting unless you really do enjoy 40 point seasons and finishing about 13th. Yes, I'd have taken this situation in November, but the recovery has been built on those away wins and Ralph still hasn't solved the home issue, some bad performances and defeats against teams like West Ham, Burnley, Newcastle, Arsenal, even after we had supposedly stabilised. I think the remainder of the season is a chance to try to sort that out: Man City, Brighton and Sheff Utd are left at home. Now City is always going to be difficult but you'd want at least 4 points, and preferably 6 from the other 2 games to try to show some kind of progress at St Mary's, then maybe we can maintain that when fans are in the stadium eventually.

That was a fun watch. A few humble pie eaters I suspect after Vestegaard's performance. Did he put a foot wrong? Romeu too did everything asked of him and looked comfortable and assured. Now let's see what they both can do with City's midfield and attack!!! I suspect that just having KWP at right back gives the other players extra confidence knowing that there isn't an avenue down our left flank for the oppostion to play in. He was excellent going forwards and backwards. I hope we can keep him. Smallbone looked completely comfortable out there and wasn't afraid to get in for a tackle or to attempt the risky pass to a forward runner. I like him. I too really hope Ralph can give Adams a run. It's true he was a regular in a shaky team at the start of the season. In his recent cameo appearances he's done well. I am sure every Saints fan around the world was willing the chance to go in. He did so well to create the chance and Foster is a decent keeper. Danny needs to pick up a fake injury now to scare off any suitors who may think his injury problems are behind him!!!

Until recently I'd have said that was wildly optimistic. City are City, Blades defend like fiends and that Potter bloke seems to get a tune out of his Seagulls when the chips are down. City are still City and whatever XI they put out will be shit hot. Pep may take his foot off the throttle when CL qualification is a certainty (subject to CAS decision) but next Sunday they will be well at it. Brighton were a penalty save away from winning at Leicester and Potter has them playing anti-football that sucks the life from opponents. Not pretty but needs must... Blades were my team at University and I've continued to follow them at a distance. Enjoyed them rubbing the noses of the relegation-predicting pundits in the brown stuff this season but, since the post Covid restart they appear to have lost their way. I'd say they now represent our best chance of a home win, particularly with Ings on fire. Be sad for Billy Sharp to play at an empty SMS because his role in our return to the Prem deserves the respect of a full stadium.

I must admit I was quite worried to see the inclusion of Vestergardde, especially with McCarthy struggling. The big man done well, and before the HT whistle went I thought he was giving us a real center backs performance, dominant in the air and on the ground. He also fitted well into the system, by the hour mark you could see Denney giving up on anything pumped up to him. It was certainly his best game for us, and the best central defense performance since VvD ....I hope it wasn't a flash in the pan.
Another plus was to see Hasshault hasn't given up on Che, his reaction when it looked as if he scored at last, was a picture, he really seems to want to persevere with him. I hope we do keep him, I think there is a good player in there.
