Fun fact of the day, Romeu is actually only 3 years older than Reed.

Good to hear; more aggression in the midfield will definitely help in some games, not sure he's a replacement for PEH though, more one for Romeu? But glad to hear Ralph's allegedly thinking of bringing him back in, I thought he always looked useful when playing for us. Yeah, he does seem the 'terrier' sort of player Ralph likes in midfield and agreed the increasingly more late and desperate lunges made recently by Romeu may have RH thinking of replacing him. Watched Fulham at Leeds recently and Harry made their midfield look very ordinary - till El Bielsa made his substitutions and won the game.

Some centre half from Sampdoria being linked to us. It looks like a load of old agent

I saw somewhere the Lallana was linked with Leicester, which would be a shame. I'd take him back but is he too old now for Saints to be recruiting him (even on a free)?
PEH being linked with Everton too. What a waste! Everton is a real backwater for people like him. If he wans CL football, he'd be better leaving the country. On stay with us as we seem to be an upward trajectory.

Yes, the Echo website said that Everton have upped their bid from £18m to £20m for Hojbjerg, but Saints want more and that the player would prefer Spurs. Also, Spurs want to sell KWP, but Saints don't want them to be separate deals.
I do like Hojbjerg and I think he's been an important player for us, but I don't really see him as being a CL standard midfielder, at least not a starter in a team that's looking to go far in the competition. Wherever he goes, if we end up with about £5-10m net profit from selling him and signing KWP then I'd see that as a success.

Meh on mingeface On PEH, his problem is that he's not yet good enough for the big 5; so if he wants a chance of yerp and a pay rise then Spuds and Everton are the only option; unfortunately Spuds are likely to pay hardball, so he'll probably end up at Everton, which isn't much use to him.

BBC are carrying the Salisu story today.
Also reckon Burnley are sniffing round Harry Reed. Unless they offer big dosh I'd prefer us to keep him.

Peh has gone to everton then, not really a step up

Peh has gone to everton then, not really a step up £25M according to The Echo. Where does this leave us with getting Kyle Walker-Peters? Levy wouldn't pay £25M for PEH, will he play hard to get with Saints about KWP now?

Ancelotti is a big beast of Football Management and could have sold PEH the Everton project he is running.
The club has effectively "moved out" of Goodison to flashy offices in the Liver Building from where they will organise the building of and move to their new ground - well away from Stanley Park.
On the playing front, Ancelotti inherited an ageing squad with a remit to dismantle and rebuild. This summer they have already lost 9 players whose contracts were up (including Cuco Martina) and transferred another 3 (including Morgan Schneiderlin). Ageing full-backs Baines and Coleman will soon be off which leaves the Everton captaincy up for grabs. Would PEH have seen enough in gaining the captain's armband and having a refreshed squad built around him to put his CL dreams on-hold?
I reckon so.

Everton will pay Levi's asking price.
