Peh has gone to everton then, not really a step up £25M according to The Echo. Where does this leave us with getting Kyle Walker-Peters? Levy wouldn't pay £25M for PEH, will he play hard to get with Saints about KWP now? It's not bad money for a player with 1year left, and the market probably depressed by Covid. To answer the second; yes, he's a massive cock (appropriately for the London Soccer Chickens)... he'll be hawking KWP round all summer with vids of his recent performances and we'll only be able to buy him for a sensible price if he's not sold by 11pm on deadline day.

Lots of Lallana on a free noise on twitter. Seems to just be coming from one article in the Express. Don't believe it, not a Ralph sort of signing but, what would you say to it?
Personally, I'm a fan of Armstrong and of Redmond but hed be an upgrade on Boufal and Djenepo. Back up at best.

Personally, I'm a fan of Armstrong and of Redmond but hed be an upgrade on Boufal and Djenepo. Back up at best. Liverpool have often played him in central midfield. He'd be an option alongside JWP. Not my greatest WANT for Saints but could still do a job.

The talk is RH wants Lallana as a defensive MF player. Interesting. Given his legs are shot at 32 and it's unlikely he will ever be a good attacking MF player again there could be some mileage there. I guess it all comes down to the wages being demanded.

I guess it all comes down to the wages being demanded. If he's after wages he will not end up here. He'll be a marquee signing for a promoted club, Leeds or WBA or he'll go to West Ham. It he wants to play in a side that plays with the style he's used to we would be a good shout. If it's alongside JWP / Romeu that's definitely the end of Reed (I'm ok with that, hed have made it by now if he was going to here) and I also see Smallbone being in the CM in future, but maybe Lallana would give us the protection to ease Smallbone in gradually and see where he best fits. If he can stay fit I'd have him on a two year deal. But I'd not like to think he was coming in to be first choice.

I don't really see what Lallana will add for us. We're not a particularly young team needing experience and I'm not sure what role he'd play. I guess with no transfer fee it'll offset the wages but still I'd have thought there were up and coming players who would be a better investment.
I do kind of get the defensive mid idea, although more like a deep-lying playmaker style role which could be helpful in some situations, perhaps it's Ralph's big idea to improve the home form? He certainly played well in CM in that FA Cup game against Everton this season.
I guess that if Ralph does see the value then let's go for it.
Also, Guardian today says Spurs still keen on PEH- if they can make the right offer then I get the impression the player would choose them over Everton.

Me neither... if his legs are gone I can't see him fitting in the team.. I can see the argument of a playmaker for improving our home form if we're going to play a different style when we're failing to break teams down; he certainly wouldn't be any cop in the 4222 press-break model. I'd fancy it's just paper 1+1=3 talk

Gunn to Leeds is a rumour. Thoughts?
I think he has a lot of potential and would hope only a loan. But I would rather see McCarthy as first choice here and Forster given a chance as 2nd

But I would rather see McCarthy as first choice here and Forster given a chance as 2nd I think that since McCarthy came back into the side he has put to bed any debate about who our first choice should be. So Gunn will probably be in for a longer wait to be number one than he would have hoped and he might feel like Leeds is a good option for him now. Also, I don't think Forster is at the point in his career where Saints backup is worth his time. I think this all depends on what the truth is about Forster and it's difficult for us fans to do much more than guess. I can't help thinking the best solution is for Celtic to buy Forster and we keep Gunn. Gunn was so highly rated when we bought him and although he hasn't really justified that when he has played it might come back to bite us if we let him go.
