Well I do.
Lovely to be busy again. Seems I've been treading water since I retired. Now I'm preparing for Drew's funeral and dealing with his Estate I'm as happy as a pig in shit (as my Granddad used to say). Saw our solicitor on Thursday. He took one of the death certificates and will get the property deeds changed to just my name. He said I seemed to have everything else under control so won't be sending me a bill for his work!
Enjoying my "new man" breakfast of cereal and figs. Have a lunch out tomorrow squeezed in between Saints and Chelsea games.
Onwards & Upwards!

When I was a kid I didn't mind Spurs at all, but now I'm fully on board with the "We hate Spurs" sentiment.
I am currently sorting out this month's podcast and enjoying a morning of tea and records. Playing the Skids at the moment, inspired by reading Richard Jobson's book, which is much better than I was expecting.
Going to see my dad this afternoon, at his new care home. I haven't seen him since March and I'm quite anxious about it.

G'day
I'm a lover not a hater, but I draw the line at 'loving' spurs.
So far this morning I've walked the mutt, delivered my elderly neighbour into town for her 'flu jab (mine is next week) and I have an applicant to assess for a minibus driving licence this afternoon. Then I shall be on kitchen duty roasting a chicken mit all ze trimmings. I suspect it may be a bit sunnier and hotter by then; but I need some of the meat for a curry tomorrow (when it will probably be even sunnier).
I've played two games of golf this week - necessary if I am to regain both my rhythm and eye. One game booked for next Thursday already and looking for a second. It's quite tiring after such a long lay off but I must persevere.
Our 'no wine' in September campaign is going rather well; 2/3 of the way through the month and barely a glass has touched my lips although the wine rack(s) is looking increasingly tempting by the day. Laithwaites will be delivering in early October so I must organise some favourites to be included.
I can't hold out much hope for our weekend match but Saints are very good at confounding expectations; nothing surprises me anymore.
Have a happy weekend y'all and stay healthy

Afternoon
Been busy this morning, juggling emails, WhatsApp messages and the like. As well as organising a meet with my sister tomorrow, I have been organising two meets early next week for various people that I work at the Abbey with. Obviously outside and no more than 6, but whether they will actually happen remains to be seen. We may end up having to make do with Zoom for the meetings in the week.
I am firmly in the "I hate Spurs" camp, which is why I loved our win at home last season and why I am fretting about tomorrow. It is a dislike which has many layers, from the way they poached Hoddle and Pochettino, through several unpleasant player transfers, the nasty Levy and all the way up to how they seem to have pinched our song. It is "Oh when the Saints" you nasty North London Yobbos. I can safely say it is a dislike most certainly not based on rivalry, that is reserved for Portsmouth (Sorry Bournemouth, you are just not that important) and seems to only have grown over the years.

afternoon No, don't like Spurs, worked for a load of them when I was in London (and gooners), they can kiss my furry arse as far as I'm concerned… Why didn't Gareth come home properly? (I guess 600K per week may indeed have been a barrier to us recruiting him??) as for this lockdown business, it better not happen until the builders have fucked off otherwise I will be living in a dusty brick filled building site for months on end! What was all that gibberish that Willshakes. posted on here yesterday? It's all a scam? The only people that died were people that were dying anyway? Lightning strikes? It was a clusterfuck of absolute bollocks and wishful thinking mixed with a significant dose of "truthers" unsubstantiated piffle and right-wing rhetoric. I hope you didn't publish that nonsense Sir?

I would debate the "Right wing rhetoric" as he's a left wing pilgrim. I also took the piss out of the lightning crap. The first 2 paragraphs are worth debating. I know two facts he's superb with numbers and studied the data, in his own time from official government health analysis.

I think Sweden's differences to everyone else has got a lot more to do with their national geography, holidaying habits (they basically spend the entire summer in the middle of nowhere) and much lower population density. But that's just my take on it. And as for left-wingers not spouting right-wing rhetoric, I think they do… In fact, it's just the circle meeting at the top isn't it? And I should know, I'm quite left-wing myself… You have to watch that. BTW, that Swedish guy says masks are not very effective because there isn't much evidence that they are … I'm not entirely sure what the hell he's basing that idea on… Clear clinical evidence showing 97% + effectiveness if the entire population wears a mask. But, whatever

In other words, they don't have to be asked to keep their distance, it's something they do without having to think about it.

In other words, they don't have to be asked to keep their distance, it's something they do without having to think about it. I agree with both of you. There's also many things rising to the surface now. " The real Covid deaths: How 238 of the 796 Covid victims recorded in July actually died from other causes, including cancer or being killed by cars, while 93 of the 312 Covid victims recorded in August are now believed to have not been killed by the virus, analysis by the Office for National Statistics has shown." This is quoted today from Oxford University. The Government has made catastrophic errors from the start; No flights incoming stopped, Care home residents sent from hospitals back to care homes without being tested, Shambolic testing. As you say THE BEAST "Whatever" All we can do is keep a distance, wear a mask, wash our hands & make sure our kids and family members do the same.

Gareth Bale ! Remember watching him in the early days. We've produced some talent. It's almost a shame he can't play tomorrow. I'd take a draw and that would do. How much is he earning a week ? Someone tell me it's not about the money ?
