Morning Hope all goes well with the funeral today spot51 Will be thinking of you. I have had a frantic and exhausting week so far, so for me, today will be a catching up day. Most of my time has been taken up with organising two separate meetings of six in the open air for some of the people that I have worked with at the Abbey on a Wednesday over the last few years. The first meeting that I didn't attend, was held in bright sunshine on Monday. The second, which I did attend, was held in the rain yesterday morning. Even though it was raining, it was really good to see people again and there was a lot of laughing, as we sat in the village car park, under our motley collection of golfing umbrellas. Now we have got to decide how to keep in contact, using a combination of more meetings (Boris permitting), Zoom, WhatsApp and old fashioned email. There was no one solution that was universally popular, apart from actual meetings, but I guess that will be OK. The walk we did on Tuesday was around Selsey Common and the outskirts of Stroud, along the canal. For the most part it was warm and sunny and towards the end we came across a cricket match. As it was lunchtime we sat down near the boundary to watch. It turned out it was two British Asian sides, one from Gloucester and the other from Coventry. Both play league cricket, but as the season was finished, it was just a friendly 20 20 match. They were impressive. Coventry were batting while we were watching and both Gloucester fast bowlers were really impressive. One of the fielders near us told us that both bowlers were young and had played for Gloucestershire this season. That level of skill was only too apparent. They were impressive. What surprised me was that everyone in the ground (probably 50-60) was Asian, except us, but a constant stream of people came over to us to chat. That was nice and a really unexpected bonus. We have the dog again today, so will be dodging the forecast showers. As for the football, that seems to be that until next year for spectating. The best we can hope for is something organised for season ticket holders access to TV feeds, according to the rumours that I have heard. That is apparently something the Premier League have been discussing since the Boris shutdown. We will see. At least I will see a steady stream of refunds over the weeks ahead.

Thank you channoniteDone everything bar writing up the final mind maps to guide me through the Eulogy. The drafts are scruffy with too much info. Shall be starting the day with a sausage sarni with brown sauce. Listening to Tea with the Tillerman (Cat Stevens) on Spotify Premium - Mike has added me to their family subscription so last night I was able to listen to the last Runrig Concert in Stirling in 2018. Tomorrow the Focus goes back, the Skoda arrives and Drew's Kuga remains parked in the Close till Motability decide they want it back. I guess the rest of my life begins too.

Morning
All the best for today, Spot.
In somewhat of a counterpoint, much excitement hereabouts as our friends that we're staying with's daughter had a baby overnight. (In fact she went into labour just after getting off the phone with my Mrs who was chastising her for not delivering in time for our visit!). The circle of life, eh?
Bit rainy today, but hopefully we can get out for a walk in the Thames estuary before getting in the car for the next leg.

G'day
You're in our thoughts today, Spot. Virtual hugs coming your way from us both (and B). Strange times indeed, to have a reduced size service. There will be many more with you in spirit.
TFTT .... Father and Son is one of my favourite Cat songs.
Weather here is not propitious, sunny one minute, heavy shower the next - and I have a game of golf arranged for this afternoon. 40% chance of rain according to the boffins but ...... they have been wrong before.
Have a good day y'all
