Morning Scummers Just filled in the Annual SFC questionnaire and bitched about the poor coverage of the Women's team. If it weren't for OneBeat telling us we'd find bugger all out from the OS. Lovely day on Culver yesterday. So many Skylarks soaring overhead and a lovely cooling breeze coming up from Sandown Bay. During the Euros I'll need to get my paper and walk the dogs before the first match kicks off which will require me to get organised rather quicker than of late. Come on Scotland!

Morning all
After yesterday's scorcher, a bit of a drab affair out today.. clearly the gods are protecting us from the eclipse. Seeing things is the order of the day, as I've just been to my first (ever) Opticians appointment; seems like last year's face lurgy hasn't helped my eyes. Thankfully I don't need full-time glasses yet, but have now crossed the threshold to reading glasses.. boo. I also need to be more rock and roll and wear shades more often as apparently I have larger pupils than most.. think there must've been some vampire in my family tree. Will have to look for some lighter ones (aka peado glasses, or slightly more appealingly Hunter S Thompson glasses) for indoor use too.
Still struggling to "get myself up for" the Euros.. combo of the miserable Saints year and that pillock Southgate, I presume. Having said that, the Mrs is going to some new age nonsense on Fri, so will at least have a go at pretending some enthusiasm for the opening match to get me out of going.

I need to get to the eye doctor. When I was 21 I fractured my orbit playing basketball and now that I’m in my 40s my orbital muscles aren’t strong enough to compensate and I get double vision. I was convinced I had multiple sclerosis when the symptoms developed. Instead, they are worsening at a pace that I need new glasses every year and now without glasses I have double vision at 5 feet instead of 1000 yards. Aging sucks.

Still not getting the anti-Southgate vibe that seems prevalent in a lot of places. He's been in charge for one WC where we equaled our best performance since '66, he picks young players and players from smaller clubs (albeit not ours).
It's the England national team ffs, if not him then who would actually want the job? Harry? Pards??

Another day, another trip to London and back - a five hour round trip - to visit our son in hospital. Coupled with two days working in a socially distanced and masked up environment each week, it's all taking it's toll and I can't say that I am sleeping too well at the moment. At least our son is making rapid progress now. The sooner he is home the better. I was thinking of OneBeat on the way back from London along the M4. How are things with you at the moment? Right, I am going to watch some fairly lightweight TV now. Schitts Creek seems to fit the bill, it always manages to raise a chuckle or two and the episodes are fairly short'ish. Which reminds me, does anyone else suffer from a short attention span now? A couple of friends have reported the same thing has happened to them, particularly since the new year.

Bugger, thankfully none of that, just very weepy in bright light. We're unlucky enough to be in sight of some pretty major advances that'll fix stuff like that easily, but just not quite (although I guess you could say that for most recent generations since they started switching from magic to science for medicine).

Glad to hear C jnr is progressing. Dunno about the attention span thing.. difference may be that work's been pretty full on since lockdown started.

Well, that’s nice of you to think about me. Dad’s death has been very hard to get to grips with, despite the fact that it wasn’t a shock. Some days I’ve felt very low, other days I’ve felt ok. Not been on line much. Found some good stuff from dads younger footer days. He kept loads for clippings photos and letters from the FA.
