So, we are down to the last sixteen, just eight matches over the course of the next four days. In amongst the games comes the England v Germany showdown. Will we attempt to bore the Germans to death? Probably.
We will soon be reaching the point where my thoughts will turn to the new Premier League season. Last season I was optimistic, this season pessimistic. We have stripes thus season after all. I am not a fan of stripes. The sash design is traditional, while stripes are just a fashion which comes and goes.
Off into the sunshine this morning for our garden visit.
I hate the bloody stripes. When I saw we were going back to Hummel I hoped for better - the pin striped detailing on Denmark's nominally red tops is beautiful but we keep going back to bloody deckchairs - and, as Channers rightly suggests - this time it really does feel like the Titanic's deckchairs being aimlessly moved about.
Modern life is (to paraphrase Blur) Utter Shite. Back in the 90s the movement towards quality products and services put customers at the centre of processes and the noughties brought this approach into the Public Sector. A decade of austerity and "me first" Tory policies has reversed this progress to the point where decent service has entirely vanished. We are left with utterly useless "Customer" call centres, scams at every turn, customers bombarded with useless Apps and ridiculous online "security" features whilst workers struggle to pay bills by juggling zero hours contracts and are unable to take pride in any of the work they do. Britain is a shithole!
At least the sun is out. The climate lottery has actually produced a sunny, Saturday in June. TFFT!
