So, the Danes caned the Welsh to progress to the quarter finals. No real surprise, but the Welsh did kind of cave in. Lots of Welsh petulance on display afterwards. I am surprised that the Austrians ran the Italians so close, as I really don't rate them, having paid fairly close attention to them during the group stages.
We went to Nick Mason's Open Garden day yesterday at his house and enjoyed a walk around his immaculate formal garden, which would put a lot of National Trust places to shame. The cars were mind boggling, even the visitors car park was worth a look. In that, I counted no fewer than six McLarens, a rare late 1950's Porsche Carrera, A brand new Ford GT (which must be a tight fit getting in and out of and more a 1+½ than a two seater), together with any number of new Aston Martins and Jaguars. Nick's own French Racing Blue 1920's Bugatti and his Ferrari 250LM were in pride of place, along with some of his other historic cars that he and his daughter race and even a cute little Fiat 500, complete with custom made picnic basket strapped to the back. Nick and his wife were walking around talking to people and he was signing copies of his newish book on Pink Floyd (A snip at £50 with a personalised inscription). All the profits for the day went to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Wiltshire Police Bobby charity, which provides support and advice for the old and vulnerable who are worried about being burgled. Oh yes, and his own helicopter was there to gawp at, with it's Dark Side Of The Moon colour scheme, which he uses to nip up and down to his other house in Hampstead. MrsC was taken with their five horses, which were wandering around in the field beyond the Haha and were definitely enjoying all the attention they were getting. All very civilised, although we left earlier than we were intending as social distancing was beginning to get an aspiration, rather than an actuality after lunch.
Just watched the Styrian GP and it was really a bit of a disappointment, in that the drivers who I tend to follow - all the English ones obviously, plus the single Australian, all had a disappointing day for various different reasons. Next on the agenda are the two football matches today. I am expecting the Dutch and the Belgians to progress, but this is football and anything could happen.

Channers -"Anything" has happened. Politics is a mess. If anyone knows a local Charity that wants a FREE hand to get in touch with them and ask them to register on this site. charitysaver.org/ Myself & 2 Associates started this 4 weeks ago, It's FREE, helps any Charity and has now got National TV & Press knocking on the door. I'm fortunate to now have a successful business, so have my 2 associates, we don't make any money we just want to give back. We'll save the UK Charity sector £4.75B because the Banks transaction fees are astronomical. That, along with what we give back. Let's see what tomorrow brings ?

I felt crap today. Arthritis was dreadful.
Watched a bit of le Tour early, then watched the First Austrian GP - Drew and I went there BITD - stayed in the fantastic city of Graz. The circuit has been sedated since then but still has more overtaking options than most of the Asian Car Parks.
Czechs much better than Holland - first 3 gone the way I was expecting. ITV seem to think England have a chance against Germany (Ho Ho) but tonight's game is worthy of being the final. Who knows?

Good scrap tonight - could have gone either way. Italy v Belgium will be an even tougher call.

I've alluded to this a bit in my match report (it's in the dedicated forum to add to the website now Channers). They did seem a bit needlessly ungracious about it all. First Gareth Bale walking off when asked about his future, which was a fair question that was bound to be asked given he'd made a point that he'd reveal things after the tournament. Then Rob Page's interview where he seemed under the impression that Wales had been hard done by. Chris Gunter sent a message to the fans that was also self-pitying about a 'joke of a format' which he could have left out when the rest of his message was quite nice, bar the swearing. Elis James did a show on Saturday night that I was half watching where he was talking to I think Danny Gabbidon and a couple of others, it was very downbeat and a bit delusional. On one hand they were complaining that Hal Robson-Kanu hadn't been selected as a plan B, then were questioning why Wales can't blitz other teams with more expansive play and need a lot of late goals to edge out other sides- they didn't seem aware that if Robson-Kanu is a legitimate option for a national side, then maybe they can't expect much more than this? Oddly Robbie Savage seemed the most fair-minded in his commentary. Although he identified the couple of unlucky decisions that went against Wales, he knew that those weren't the reason they went out and recognised that Denmark were much better than them.
