It’s Sellhurst, innit? I guess Palace have to use CGI to boost the appearance of attendances on MOTD too…

I would just like to say a big thanks to you all. I would never had considered watching this, I find that fictional shows/movies about football always miss the mark and often seem a bit contrived. The on field scenes tend to be awful too unless they use real footage.
This show is just bloody brilliant. Ted is such a likeable character and the entire cast are brilliant. I spent quite a while trying to place the actor who plays Roy Kent, I realised after a while that he was in Derek.
Such a feel good and funny show, so thanks again.

One thing that struck me about AFC Richmond. They only play home matches.

Looking back now:
Nate claimed he wanted to the big dog What did Rupert say to him at the funeral? Why does he need a new suit?
Can't wait for tomorrow!

Oh. My. God! What an ending.
Well now we know the answers to the questions, but I still didn’t see that coming. Absolutely the dog's bollocks. What a series.
At the final match of the season I was chanting ‘Come on Richmond!’ and I could hardly watch that penalty.
Best of all is that in the next series we now know that West Ham are the evil empire, just as in life!

I think there's a fair chance we will finally see an 'away' match in season 3....at West Ham.
Having dialled down Rupert's involvement in this season, they needed a baddie but they've had to take a bit of a stretch in creating a new one.

Okay, I cancelled my Disney+ subscription, so I can activate AppleTV and I'll start Ted Lasso as soon as my wife finishes her current netflix binge of 'Maid', which is just depressing.

It's watchable but very much of its time. Forget about the cutting comedy shows of the 80s like The Young Ones, this is about as bland as you can get.
Gentle humour of the sort Little and Large trotted out in the 80s, an intentionally diverse cast (they made an effort to add an extra character into this series for which they only auditioned black actors) and the last episodes seemed to deviate into some pound shop version of Love Actually.
The plot lines can be seen from a mile off. (Anyone who was genuinely was shocked when the person taking West Ham training at the end of the series was Nate must still believe in the tooth fairy) And the fact Richmond were promoted wasn't exactly a shock as Warner Brothers had previously announced they had come to a multi million $$$ deal with the Premier League to include their branding in the 3rd and final season.
I can see why it's liked in America, they still like the tired stereotypical tropes of the Brits being sweary pint drinkers who spend the majority of the time down the pub and eating fish 'n chips.
But as I say, though massively over-rated, it is still very gentle and inoffensive humour which I guess is exactly what makes it of its time.

It seem no surprise at all to completely disagree with every single thing in this post... Having said that, it is top quality trolling.

As I said, it's watchable but massively over-rated. (Nice theme tune though!)
