It was good to see THE BEAST yesterday as we were about to take some of dads CDs to the Oxfam Record Shop. Once we'd done that we walked up to the hell that is the precinct to meet B from work, and a two piece "punk" band set up and made a right old racket really loudly, I liked it, and the shoppers didn't seem to mind, a woman from the bank they were playing outside didn't like it so much! We got home to find that mum had a fall and was waiting for an ambulance. She is still in hospital this morning and will be there "for a while" as her knee is still really swollen, and the pain relief is making her sick. She hit her head too, but that doesn't seem so bad. Not sure what that means for our week's holiday starting on monday! Just as she was getting over the ast few months, losing dad and then hs sister and brother. She'd started dancing again which she was really enjoying. Now this. 2021 keeps putting the boot in. Currently listening to Culture 'Two Sevens Clash'. All that reggae in the Museum Of London has got into my brain.

Sorry to hear about your Mum OneBeat and hope she recovers quickly, so that you can enjoy your holiday. So, Saints are on the verge of signing another CB from Torino. I don't know anything about him and if you read the Italian press, they are not too wild about him. I do wonder if that is partly because the player is Brazilian. Having said that, we haven't got a very good track record of signing South Americans... It is pouring with rain and we were supposed to be having a BBQ with son & d-i-l attending, but that is now going to be a late lunch indoors. The vagaries of the English Summer. Looking forward to going to the South Coast tomorrow for the match. When I was down for the Leeds match, I was on my own and drove down, parked and went straight to the match and then returned straight home afterwards. This time there will be three of us and we will have a brief look around town for the first time in 18 months. I will be interested to see how the Pandemic/Brexit has affected the centre and how many once familiar names have gone.

Morning Scummers (it still is - just - as I type)
I'm not at all interested in seeing bloody Liverpool live again this week. Liverpool v Burnley is NOT a match I'd watch despite my soft spot for the Clarets. Burnley look to have run out of steam and are very likely one of the sides we need to be above to avoid the drop. TBF I'd not watch United tomorrow if they weren't playing us. We've only ever beaten them once at home since the move to SMS and nothing encourages me to think that will change tomorrow. Boo!
Watched some interesting TV last week. I never normally watch UKTV channels but last Sunday's Observer recommended Annika, a new police-procedural commissioned by Alibi FFS! It stars the excellent Nicola Walker who was killed off too soon in her last investigative role on the brilliant Unforgotten. In this she heads up a new Scottish Marine Crime Unit based on the Clyde. As usual she is a single mum to a difficult teenager but this time she is dealing with new crime (e.g. a corpse with a harpoon through the head) rather than cold cases. Apparently this was adapted from a Radio 4 drama series but it makes for entertaining - and beautifully photographed - TV.
Claire Goose plays the lead in the ITV 2-parter Undeniable, originally screened in 2014. With few new programmes made during lockdown, it is good to see this getting another go. Ms Goose plays a 31yo mum whose mother was bludgeoned to death 23 years earlier. Pregnant with her 2nd child she goes into hospital for a scan and sees the man who killed her Mum. Not sure where this one is going but during episode 1 we find she has stopped taking her anti-depressants and has made similar accusations before. Will all be resolved next Wednesday.
Rather less cerebral but wonderfully done, The Equalizer returns on Sky Witness with Queen Latifah playing the role made famous by Edward Woodward BITD. It is compulsive viewing and the tech now available to a former-CIA operative with the right sort of connections makes James Bond look like Kindergarten Cop. Not to be taken too seriously and, Hey, the good guys ALWAYS win! CBS made 10 episodes of this but with luck it will get another series.
Stopped raining. I should move.

morning, was good to see you yesterday to OneBeat, sorry to hear your news about your mum, Let's hope she bounces back quickly. Not looking forward to Saints game today, I have a feeling we are in for another thrashing. As for Brazilian centre backs, there's been a few good ones, can't think of any of them who have been good who don't play for the big clubs though, maybe we've got a diamond in the rough but with our history of centre back purchases I'm thinking it's going to be a long season. I was in Southampton yesterday after seeing the man himself, too many people, too many ratlickers with no masks on, as if going to Southampton football and listening to all the total bullshit spouted there wasn't proof enough of the fact that people in town are thick as feck, walking around in West Quay will give you proof if you need it. there are quite a few shops missing even though, it's going to be Quite difficult to get some things shortly I think, and as for buying food in town, I really wouldn't… What I spent a fortune on yesterday was shit…
