Totally killed it in Berlin last night. On my way to Amsterdam for tonight's show. Absolutely the best. Ever.

No support. He plays 2 sets of about 80 minutes each. I'm front row again at Meltweg. Looking forward

BTW. Not one song was repeated on the the 2 nights. Not one. Cologne last night was different again. Wish I'd been there, they played Summertime and Wild Horses!!! Jealous of you now going to see him Wednesday. Enjoy the holiday.

Thanks for sharing the review, yateleysaint. Been meaning to jump on this thread all day, but I’ve been hugely under the cosh… The gig was sensational … I don’t know why it didn’t get a fifth star in the Graun. The cover of Fearless was the highlight for me, with one of his relatively new tracks - Love and Regret, which was beautiful. 299 decided bluegrass wasn’t for her though and left early 😐 - well before Dust in a Baggie brought the first half to a magnificent crescendo and the more diverse, melodic and interesting second half. Everything Mandochris says about this guy is right… he’s the best guitarist of any genre I’ve ever seen. I’ll be there next time he’s back in the UK and would commend him to any of you with even a passing interest in bluegrass to go too… Billy Strings puts on some show!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I love Love and Regret. I actually learned to play it after a fashion. He played it in Berlin too. Thanks for the link @yatelysaint. I'm surprised it wasn't Emma John who usually writes about this sort of thing but maybe she was busy reviewing cricket (her day job) and the article was pretty good. I'm listening back to Amsterdam show on Relisten as I write. It's still just as good.

Just spent weekend at Billy Strings festival in Buena Vista Colorado. Lots of fun. Billy played 2x 90 minute sets on Friday, then say on on the closing show for an hour. On Saturday when alot of the crowd were in an hour before the first band started he brought his band fir a "sound check" and entertained the crowd fir 40 minutes. He cake back at 7 fir 2x 90 minute sets, and then another late night jam for an hour. Fantastic guy See my fb page for pics and clips
