Now 27 out of 39 games he’s played when he’s conceded the first shot in target. Including every game this season.
His week left diving side is being targeted (I don’t actually blame him for last nights goal) but conceded the killer strike. Just doesn’t make saves. The opposition are targeting his left, it’s obvious, I would be and it’s been a long time since I coached. Negative XG is now 4.3 goals against (Ipswich were 0.8 last night) and up to .61 per match, per fecking match. Most Championship keepers would have collected a clean sheet last night. We are shipping over half a goal per 90 more than a par goalkeeper in this league. Incedently a whole 1 goal more than Ipswich and Preston. Both have 7 goal swings over us.
That is worse than last season, when he was the worst ever in premier league history. There is no evidence over more than 40 starts that he is good enough to play. None.
For those that think I’m being unfair. Go and look at the date of the very first post. Back in mid Aug. This was completely predicted and has played out near exactly as said.
……
He’s just not good enough and a complete waste of money.
If we don’t drop him, we could very quickly be heading for League 1. That is a fact. It’s a fact. It’s a bloody fact.

Maybe Lumley is good enough to deserve a run out at some point, but imo there is no GK at the club whocan be sufficiently cat-like in his defensive dominance and also not pass to opposition strikers.

The funny thing is he’s obviously by far the worst keeper in the whole division and also probably cost the most.
Slow hand clap for SR for their inspired recruitment:
“We want your worst young keeper and we will give you £10m for him.”

Now…Here we go.
8/8 First Shots on Target Conceded. That is now 28/40 times I think. Ruins any tactical plan. Statistically the worst goalkeeper in Oremier League history and now 24/24 in both shots on target conceded and AXG. Three quarters of the goalkeepers in this league save that shot.
Beaten from outside the box again low to his left, that is the 4th time this season. (Yes, I appreciate fully the goal was another players fault, that isn’t my point). Stated before that teams are actively targeting this with all their shoes from distance.
This is embarrassing.
This is supposedly a modern manager.
Please just replace now.

There’s a topical McCarthy joke for y’all there.

One wish and one wish only. McCarthy That's like chosing a string vest over a negligee when going into a medieval battle...arguably more sensible, but equally ineffective

Stranded. Not concentrating. First shot on goal conceded.
Rotherham Keeper does his job. Costing points over and over again.
Pathetic waste of a good performance.

We should just sign the lad from Rotherham FFS.

Singling out the goalkeeper for the dropped points in that performance is like blaming the last pint for your hangover after drinking 20 pints.

Of course you are 100% right, but that will be a different thread. But he one critical moment in the game, and he messed it again. Again.
He is the keeper who saves nothing. He is simply not good enough for this level or this team.

Can't believe Channers has not blocked this thread before now.

Agree Spot. I have had enough. It's boring and just tedious repetition
Locked. A similar replacement thread will simply be deleted without discussion
