The floating plastic bag from American Beauty would be more effective in goal Sorry, I totally disagree. This was a collective failure today. Yes it was... but that doesn't change the utter vacuousness of the mirage between the sticks.

He was shit today. As was everyone, what was frustrating was he made a couple of decent saves at 4-0. Why can't he do that at 0-0 or 0-1

Too many individual poor performances today coupled with being tactically outrun. He could have had a worldie and we'd have still lost. I agree he doesn't yet have the ability to stamp himself on the game when we are being overwhelmed, but jesus we really at this level should be able to be tight enough that he's not defending the wild west alone in his underpants.

Last season.....worst save rate in Premier League history, this season he is so far even worse than that in a lower standard. He cant stretch to his left and teams are clearly targeting that. 4 out of 4 games I think we have conceded first shot on target after that happening 19 out of 32 appearances last season. Creates carnage to tactical plans played out all week in training.
The XG from today will be horrendous, beaten twice from 25 yards.
I'm not going after him, he might be a good lad, and it's the managements fault for picking him, but you are about to get the second Manager in 10 games having to take him out of the firing line.
He is not good enough, not even Championship level, and this will continue to be proven and he will continue to cost us goals. e will cost us 15 -20 v. XG if he keeps going.

What the feck is all this xG bollox. You concede or you don't. Today we conceded too many goals. Simple.
After the game on SSN they put all these stats up about how Maddison is the 1st in stats this season for many things... at Tottenham, FFS what is this obsession with shite stats! It's a couple games into the season!

The match resport will say Baz stopped it from being embarassing.
Holgate was directly responsible for 2 goals and Downes turning an off target shot into his net didn't help either.
The ref had a shocker too - not that he affected the result too much.
P.S. Martin out!

That would be incorrect...unless it was changed to more embarrassing 😉 Very unimpressed by Holgate and Downes on this showing too....and the manager.

When Harwood Bellis and Jack can play, both them, Bedders and Shea will be ahead of him.

I was so angry with Saints that I went out into the garden to take it out on an unsuspecting Leylandii. Picking on one whipping boy is missing the point, the whole fecking team, including the subs were shite. Bazunu plays the way Martin wants. I get it. Unfortunately, it means he gets caught out when the team does not defend as they should. I guess there is only one person on here who will be happy with that whipping today, in fact, he couldn't wait to gloat. Perspective - We are still ahead of where Burnley were after the same number of games and at least Argyle gave Blackburn a hammering

Today was a bad performance against a team who were just better on the day. I’ll pick up all these toys that have been thrown out of the pram.

That was just embarrassing. I don't want to see another performance like that. It was shocking. I find it funny and fitting in a way that it came against Sunderland whose main striker we just bought. I think they deserved it.
If anybody comes out to try to defend or excuse that performance I would feel inclined to rip them a new one.
Its early days I know, but this team is better than that result suggests. And they'd better use this as a kick in the pants.
Terrible and yet hilarious. Typical saints.

One thing I find when making notes for Match Reports is the number of times I write "shot blocked" when we are attacking but hardly ever when we defend. It has been the same for a few seasons now and until we get defenders who do the f***ing job properly we will continue to let in too many goals.
Blaming Baz for the whole team's inability to make a decent defensive contribution is complete bollox. Grow up FFS!
