Last chance saloon for the RM 'project' - not with SR, but certainly with the fans - with the squad we have any half decent Manager should have us alot further up the table than we are, like everyone else I was impressed after 4 games, although concerned we were gifting chances, we dominated games and seemed to have that ability to hang on and score a winner in the last quarter - but the last 3 games have been crap, we've created little and continue to gift chances, something has to change. Does RM have the balls to fall on his sword, abandon plan A and simply put his best players in their best positions and allow them to attack, at pace, rather than this bloody ridiculous tip-tap and get nowhere philosophy? I'm all for a possession based passing game, but mix it up a bit, rather than doing the same thing and expecting a different result - and only 1 DM FFS!

Agree with both the sentiments and the team in this post.
Fully expect to see AA and Downes instead of Alcaraz and Stu though and probably Smallbone for Fandab.

I 3cur Although I expect he'll go further and punish whoever he was complaining about for playing it safe in the last game and will throw in a couple more curveball to ensure boro get the best start possible..losing 1-0 isn't good enough, we gave to make sure we're at least 3 down |

Listened to the latest "Goin' Home with Adam and Dave" on BBC Sounds, which was entertaining as always and their preferred lineup for Middlesbrough is:

Of course, we all know the team will not be as logical as that...

Surely Alcaraz has to start, he is the kind of player you build your team around. I’m honestly amazed he didn’t leave us in the summer, how must he feel about that decision if he isn’t getting picked in a crap championship Side

I think Alcaraz has to start too. He clearly does not do the off the ball stuff that the managers want but he can open up teams, score and play with passion. And it’s not as if the midfield we have been playing has worked.

Subs: Sulemana for last 30 mins, Holgate shoupd get some minutes to help him gain match sharpness, Adam A if Che fails to score and we're chasing a deficit.

I've been looking forward to this game some we got relegated and Boro didn't make it through the playoffs. Shame it's come at a time where we can't get up there.

Travelling up in a bit (it's only 2 hours for me). Not optimistic, but I think we should be less pessimistic than Middlesbrough. I feel like it's a relegation 6 pointer already, but that's 40 or so years of going to mainly away games rather than logic.

TBF I'd rather he stayed an Russ took his boring, pedestrian, ineffective nonsense and did one. |
