Only two much missed former Scummers Billy Sharp and Maya Yoshida. LA Galaxy have seen an upturn in form since their arrival - Billy's 6 goals from 6 games probably helped. They sit 1 point behind Austin in the West with both aiming to climb into contention for the playoffs. Both need to overhaul Kansas and Inchy Heath's Loons - who Galaxy beat midweek. Austin fans are disappointed at not repeating last season's success and their fan pages mirror the sort of shite I see on the SFC ones here. Fan fickleness is clearly an Anglo Saxon thing as most European fans would rather die than say a bad word about their team.

Oh to have a Maya Yoshida in our squad at the moment.

Cannot believe they sold Diego Fagundez. That alone is going to get Wolf fired.
On the other hand, the Longhorns have the table set for a really good run this year. They beat Alabama, and Oklahoma is the only other really rough game on paper. Never works out that way, but it’s exciting.
Jeremy Silman, beloved chess author died on Thursday. Very sad, only 69 years old. I have enjoyed 2 of his books and another was on my buy list.

Fagundez played for Galaxy in a 3-3 draw which did neither side any favours as they strive for a play off berth. Kick off was delayed 3 hours by a vicious thunderstorm which explains the number of empty seats late on Sunday night at the Q2. Yoshida started and Sharp registered an assist for LA. Austin have 4 games left, LA have 5 but only wins can get them into the post-season matches. Report
