Can't even watch the EFL Highlights now so I've taken them off "repeat record". I will always want Saints to succeed but whilst they drift aimlessly downwards I'm not minded to keep rubber-necking every missed opportunity or abject failure.
Football is a beautiful game and brings me great joy. I could never identify with United fans and their protests against the Glazers or how Geordies got so pissed off with that arse Ashley that they welcomed the blood stained Saudis with open arms. I'm beginning to understand them better now. Whereas Markus was great, his daughter and the Chinese lot definitely weren't but in the 21 months since SR took us over things have gone from not good to bloody awful.
Our early games W4 D1 L0 drew comparsons with Kompany's Burnley who got a massive 100+ points last season finishing W 29 D 14 L3. Our current form W0 D0 L4 means that is unachievable before September is out. I'm feeling scared for our team next Saturday against Farke's Leeds side for whom our fans are likely to be their 12th man. It is on Sky but I'm not sure I want to watch...
So I'm trying to forget with Bayer04 v Heidenheim and Montpelier v Rennes as today's football diet. At least I retain enough common sense to continue to block out that awful egg chasing. We get the Ryder Cup next week then the Cricket World Cup in October so all is not lost.
Yet...

Morning. Totally agree with your first three paragraphs spot51 but totally disagree with the 'egg chasing' comment and as for liking golf! In my book only darts qualifies as more boring than golf. The Cricket World Cup may take my mind off Saints for a short while. Maybe I should have got a season ticket for Saints Women, rather than the men. Bloody Sunak rolling back all the sensible green measures is just a cheap headline grabbing move (in the clueless right wing media), next we will have an official Tory climate denial policy. Why can't all these clueless ultra-right-wingers just FOAD... Still, at least that enormous white elephant of HS2 seems destined for the axe. As the railway enthusiasts said from the start, they should just have spent the money upgrading the existing lines and rolling stock. Instead all that money spent has been totally wasted. |

I was out early, taking S to Eastleigh, she’s going to run to Winchester from there. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem for her, but as she is still getting over Covid, she may struggle.
I went and dropped some records off at a friends and stopped for a tea.

Ah football, never fails to disappoint you does it? I was out early, taking S to Eastleigh, she’s going to run to Winchester from there. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem for her, but as she is still getting over Covid, she may struggle. I went and dropped some records off at a friends and stopped for a tea. I went for my first post-COVID run earlier and it was a bit of a struggle. That’s the worst one out of the way though. |

I see Ajax fans also tried to break into the stadium.
If I was a diehard Ajax fan I would simply buy a ticket.
If you haven’t bothered going I don’t think you have any right to kick off outside.
