So, it is the playoffs for us then. To be honest, I really don’t think we are equipped for that. Definitely not, our team has less balls than a harem
Oh well, at least there's the Olympics this summer

How many missed chances! Should have been 3 or 4 up before they scored. So wasteful. As Ivan said nothing the manager can do about that.

Totally agree this one's the players. Lots of good performances but Adam, Che and Brooks all had a job to do and all had bad days in the key moments. We should have been out of sight at half time, so dominant were we. Che's one on one and Brooks' round the keeper are the particular moments where it just felt like we were setting ourselves up for epic disappointment.
You could see all were really trying but we just got clogged up with frustration as it went on.
I fear that Stu's done an ACL and is not going to be in the playoffs. That would be a huge blow to our chances there. It'd also potentially be a devastating goodbye to his time with us.

I actually do blame Martin. He could have made proactive changes before they scored. We were already under performing with our passing game no longer working. Charles for Smallbone is one. Instead of waiting and waiting to bring on 3 wingers in panic mode.
Yes, our forwards should have scored more but they have been wasting chances like that all season. When it wasn't working any more he should have made some changes. Also taking off Aribo. Seriously?

Strikers didn’t mean to miss
Everyone tried
We just aren’t good enough
Gonna watch Dune 2 and try to forget this… currently I’m raging.
Football is a mad mad game

All in all, it was an epically bad day for the Saints.

Just watch us go and bloody win at Leicester, just to cement the ‘oh what might have been’ mindset

Yes we have lots of possession but shots on target tend to be about the same for the opposition. It shows how bad the tactics are - the opposition have half the possession but match us for genuine chances. It highlights how little that possession and passing game actually matters (its goals that matter Russ) and also then how fragile we are at defending (not conceding also helps Russ). RM is holding this team and squad back. Not pushing it forward. As ever, no actual back up plan or the ability to change the game in our favour. Most worrying for me is the complete lack of any resilience or backbone. We fold so easily. Teams have worked us out. If they don’t concede like Preston did, canny managers can see we will leave the gaps and allow good chances. Rope a dope.

Absolutely..the team was unbalanced and the lack of dm protection meant our fullbacks were compromised...Manning was excellent in the last game, but he got ditched because he couldn't be as effective because of the structural defects RM caused. Yes, the forwards should have done better with the chances they had, but given our clear failure there, a good manager would have acted to fix the structural deficiency instead of mindlessly throwing attackers at the problem
