6/10 then - and that’s my final offer.
I did enjoy the unbeaten run but it looks like it was all for nothing.

SR got a team promoted on Turkey I'm pretty sure I could do that

I don't care. I have been a Scummer for over 50 years and will remain one till I'm carried off feet first.
I don't think Russ would succeed playing his style in the Prem unless he was at one of the big money clubs. Trying to do that with Southampton would be embarassing against sides who know how to win by any means, fair or foul. We've shown we can't routinely beat the rubbish sides in this league yet so perhaps another year would be no bad thing.
I don't mind becoming Norwich or West Brom because both of them will be in the playoffs and, whichever we face, I'd not be confident of beating them over 2 legs. Leeds are not invincible either and being the Bookies' favourites to go up will merely add to the pressure on them. I'd say any of the 4 sides in the playoffs has an equal chance of going up. It will be exciting.
Whatever happens, next season I'll be hoping Saints do well and buying the most attractive Puma shirt (i.e. not stripes) to wear on matchdays.
Go up, make some dosh, get relegated? Stay down, develop the squad, develop a winning culture, go again? Either will be fine.

Personally for me it wouldn't be a problem at all and I can see loads of positives. I would give last season 2/10 and this year has been at least a 7/10 so can't argue with that.

I watched a bit of Bayern v Barca last night. So that's what playing out from the back means!!

I'm fairly ambivalent about whether we go up.
On the one hand, it's definitely better for the club's survival prospects to get promoted, and it would mean we'd get to keep KWP,THB & Bedz (and maybe even Charly). But we'd almost certainly be whipping boys given our finances and FFP would mean we couldn't strengthen sufficiently, and we'd almost certainly need to change our manager as well to have a hope of survival.
On the other hand, it's definitely been a much more enjoyable season (could have been a 9, but RM losing the plot of late has reduced it to a 7) and I don't really want to have to put up with the PL meeja nonsense. While we will lose half the current team, the ones who remain could definitely do with another season learning how to play well together (or more importantly, learning what do do when they're not playing so well).

I've loved this season, anyone can beat anyone, real clubs with proper fans, No VAR, yes we will lose a couple of players, easily done at this level, we'd have to replace more if we go up
