It is you know.
It's fairly mild, if wet. But I'm not going to complain about the temperature in the morning's any more. I saw a picture a friend of mine in Helsinki took of the thermometer in his car as he left for work (he works in his own record shop - lucky bugger) last week, -29!
Saturday was a bit of an anti-climax, stupid weather. But never mind, I'm going to footer tomorrow.
MUsic today was Violent Arrest in the car and Bauhaus in the office.
Another tea you say? Don't mind if I do.

Morning. The weather is mild now and the snow has all but gone. Not even a frost this morning. Hopefully there will be no more plumbing needed for a while. My knees are still aching from yesterday. I see Nige is saying both Chappers and Lee will start the Millwall game. Very unusual for him to say anything at all about possible line ups, so maybe it is just trying to get more punters through the door. Right ..

Morning. Still cold and still plenty of show on the ground with more falling, if only lightly. Are England going to make a decent fight of it in Dubai?
Why TF is the Superbowl such big news on English morning sportsnews? News, yes, but BIG news...?

Sounded like the Super bowl was a cracker, they should play it on a Saturday FFS then I'd happily watch it. Glad New Yoik won mind.

Currently watching the cricket. Can't help but be amused that Monty got a warning a few years ago for excessive appealing and yet I have to listen to a chorus of Pakistanis hail every delivery without any kind of censure!

Morning
My memory is like a sieve these days. I was supposed to go to the Building Soc on Saturday to move some dosh about - completely forgot. Have to add that to today's already full list. Hopefully the garage will turn up a new tyre for the Fusion today too.
Sometimes I loathe football - particularly the commentators and pundits who talk the most mind-numbing bollocks. Also, the referees who are either crooks or pathologically stupid. Take some of the penalties awarded this weekend - Johnson for City and Welbeck for United both cheated to get penalties. Now I'm no athlete but I think I can recognise a running stride - I can also recognise some coont doing the splits to hook their leg round a defender before hurling themselves to the ground. How can so-called Premiership officials not see that? Pathetic.
Anyhow, I continued my exploration of New World wines yesterday. Nice bit of lamb demanded a subtle red so we tried an Argentinian Bonarda Syrah 2004. None of the oomph of the Aussie wines we've tried but still very pleasing. I have half a bottle left so I may try it with pasta later this week. Without the iron it won't do what Valpollicella does but I'll report back anyway.
Anyhow, I can't sit here all day. Have to be at the podiatry clinic within the hour so I better have a good shower before poking my feet under some poor bastard's nose.
Have a lovely one!

Wotcha!
There's still lots of snow left here. Seeing if Jo the post lady can get down the lane lets me know how bad it is in the outside world. I feel in Limbo at present as I want to get over to France - I could, I suppose, always build another snowman.
Most pro footballers learn, or are taught, how to tumble and trip to advantage, how to elbow, knee and tap ankles on referees' blindsides so it's not referees who should be berated for missing the occasional simulation. Either the FA can accept that it goes on but they can do nothing about it - their (unofficial) default position - or they can start a clean up campaign, preferably assisted by technology at the top games. But it is, I suppose, at that level as much entertainment (pantomime) as sport and they don't want to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
A sport ruined by over-hyping and playing to the masses? Super Bowl for one.
Have a good day, y'all

Morning all. Very foggy here in Reading this morning and still quite snowy and icy. Great. People seeming quite sensible on the roads though, for a change.

Which is doubly ridiculous now with DRS. If you're making that kind of a racket and you think it's out, refer it. Otherwise, shut the feck up!

What I can't abide though is booking players for challenges like the one our boy Fox made on Saturday. It was a brilliant tackle! They've got themselves into a situation where almost any slide tackle can now result in a yellow or even red card. This "excessive force" rule is so problematic, and the appeal system is a total farce.
