I had a night off football yesterday. I watched BBC2 for the excellent Saving Lives at Sea and QI+ back to back. I did drop in briefly to the Olympic Porn Hub and Nottarf Krap where both games ended level. Forest pretty much negated their points deduction last night so doubt they'll be down here next season.
Back on the horse today for City v Villa. Tomorrow it is Chelsea v Wilco's mob and Friday the Lionesses entertain Sweden in the Euros. By then I'll have planned my soccer weekend, the fulcrum of which will be Saints at Blackburn on Solent. Great time to go there after they just tore Sunderland a new one at the Stadio de Luz FFS!
Stuff to do today including getting on with the Ipswich report. I'm changing my reporting style for this. Brevity will be my watchword and (with Channers looking to cover this summer's Euros) the practice at being more concise could be valuable.
Yesterday's socks. Pate on toast. Classic FM Hall of Fame where the bastards haven't put The Lark back on his perch for a second year. Disgraceful!

Greetings from my Mum’s serene gaff in The Land of Gove (Surrey Heath).
I’m just waiting here to get a hair cut with a fellow native English speaker before setting off for the trip back to Germany.
It’s been a nice Easter break - despite Saints doing their best to ruin Good Friday and Easter Monday for me. The weather has been a bit hit and miss too but my daily Hessen news email tells me that it could be as warm as 23 degrees on Friday and then up to 28 on Saturday. That’s not normal for early April is it?
It’s also Ms Y’s 17th birthday on Friday. I’m not sure what I’ve been busy doing all that time but it’s flown by TBH.
I’m due back in the office tomorrow. That’s going to be a shock to the system, especially as I made the mistake of offering to cover the general inbox on the first day of my return after 10 days away. Let’s hope it’s quiet at least. When are Saints playing next? I need to gird my loins in advance.

Public service announcement spot51 - new eps of Pointless started again on Mon. Thank you Sir. I'd been avoiding the repeats but had clocked they were catching up. Last week I noticed the word "NEW" on the Sky listings so recorded Monday's and watched yesterday in real time. Back on my routine for the foreseeable.

I didn't watch any footer past night, I did watch QI though. I was looking forward to the Lionesses' game, but we'll be in Norfolk visiting my mate, so we may not end up watching it. I'll record it though. Just taken the dog out, she wasn't really into it, just had a sniff around, a pee then headed back home. I need to write my report of the Saints Women's game this morning, it may not be as complete a report as dontknowcantremember did last time. I have socks I had toast and tea I'm listening to French synth punk band Cuir.

Morning
I think I ate something bad yesterday. I felt sick from lunch onwards and then was sick around 9pm. Had an omelette for lunch, reckon there was a dodgy egg in there maybe.
I didn't watch any football - I generally don't in the week unless it's a big game or a Saints game. We finished watching Dead to Me on Netflix, which was a lot of fun without being at all taxing. Looking forward to seeing what Ripley is like soon. Also, going to have to watch the remake of Roadhouse that's on Prime too. I love the Swayze original and I'm sure this remake will be rubbish but I'll have to watch it.
Socks - Black with See You Next Tuesday written on them, a Christmas or Birthday present I think Music - Check out the Midweek Music thread... Breakfast - nope, still not feeling too good so just tea and water

Conor McGregor was having a lovely old time and there's some very silly stunts.

Morningish
Nice out here after a drenching yesterday. Not that it matters as it'll be a long day at work.
No footy here either, I won't be able to bear it until Sat, and maybe not even then. As usual Saints have ruined it for everyone else. Tellywise we've been flagellating ourselves with the continual misery of the Handmaid's tale, with the end of series 5 finishing in typically cheery fashion.

Evening
Yesterday was my second visit to the Periodontist in a fortnight, and suddenly, I am a lot poorer. Today has been a bit uncomfortable, but I was able to work on the top floor, stay away from humanity, and not think about football.
Just watched the first episode of Shõgun and thoroughly enjoyed it. I watched the version starring Richard Chamberlain years ago and was interested to see how it compared. The answer is very well. It's way better in every way.

One of the streaming things we don't have (that and Apple TV+). You need so many nowadays...

My short term memory is not great so I usually record anything I plan to watch. If I forget it or miss the start I can then catch up. If I remember I just delete the recording. BBC is great cos if you join a show late it offers the "watch from start" option. Life would be much easier if that facility was available on every channel...
