Morning.
I watched Guy Richie's latest work, 'The Gentlemen', over the last two/three nights. Typical of his work, ie violent, in the style of 'Lock Stock', but no less enjoyable for that. I hope there is a follow up series in the works.
I am off to do less than a full day's work before setting off for the South Coast. Depending on how things pan out, we have either two or three home matches left. Whatever happens, I have enjoyed this season way more than probably back in the last promotion season, so I will not be gutted if we fall at the final hurdle. I will be gutted if the club insist on moving the away fans to the Chapel/Kingsland corner, as I moved to the Kingsland when we moved from The Dell to get away from the away fans. Anyway, that is a gripe for another day.
The sun is shining, but it is a mite chilly. At least it is not raining.

The best acting Hugh Grant has delivered.

I don't think The Gentleman is for me.
I've decided to work from home today, couldn't face going into the office. I have decided to listen to all the Subhumans releases in order today, from their first 7" from 1981, to their last album released in 2019, my laptop tells me that will take 5 hours and 4 minutes.
What will Saints do tonight, who knows, but I'll be watching.

I enjoyed The Gentleman, not as good as the film and it lost it's way a couple of times but was decent. Last night we saw the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black - I'll add to the films thread.
It's my last (scheduled) game of the season today. Off to Nashville on Monday so miss the Stoke game. As it's my last game of the season I'll say now whatever happens this season has been the best season since Koeman was here. Of course Puel got us to the cup final and Ralph had us briefly top but over a whole season this has been the one. It's in my top 10 seasons of all time easily and still has the (slim) potential to be my favourite.

Morning
I'm sadly (typically, given there's a home game tonight which I could have gone to if the fixture had been announced before I booked my plane tickets instead of after.. I guess I'm not going to make any more this season) back at home/work after an enjoyable long weekend in the UK, first at my postscript birthday party with some old mates in Gloucester, then we popped in on some friends in Oxford on the way back and had a little snoop round the town.
I don't think I've seen the Gentleman, but I have seen some of the Gentlemen; it's a bit daft but good fun.
No great expectations (Pip) for tonight's game.. Preston are just the sort of team we should beat but won't... I expect us to dominate large swathes up to the point The Irish Mist throws one in the net for a frustrating draw.

Morning
It is now but not when I post this.
Plenty of excitement hereabouts. Bart had his jabs and MOT yesterday. I had to tranquilise him or he is not welcome at the Vets. Gave him the first dose Sunday night and the second an hour before the appointment. He wasn't barking at me until I got the lead on him for walkies like usual but as soon as he got in there and met a Greyhound and a Springer he was his usual bouncy self. Thankfully he was good with the Vet.
She asked me to bring in his Pet Passport which I did just now. Looks like he was not tested for Brucelosis so it'll cost me £95 to get that done if he ever needs vetinary procedures carried out. He is as fit as a flea but I've decided to get it done sooner rather than later.
Was eating a clementine while watching Pointless last night. Got some of it stuck in my teeth. Reached for a placker and promptly pulled out a lump of one of my front teeth. Not a great look for going on holiday FFS! Thankfully I took the bit with me to my 9.20am emergency appointment and it turns out it was a crown. Who knew? They glued the fecker back on as a temporary measure but took a 3D scan of my "unusual bite" so they can make a porcelein and metal permanent replacement. I have lots of steel crowns on molars and Jim calls them Steel Crowns. I guess metal means gold so that won't be cheap...
Finally paid the gardeners who cleared my back garden. Had to use Santander who had held it up for 3 weeks and blocked my Switch to Nationwide. They declined this payment too - the day after giving me £150 for the trouble they'd caused. Another 30m on the sodding phone but at least this time they fixed it and put through the payment for me. Why the the buggers couldn't have done that 3 Saturdays back, god knows...
So back to a normal Laundry Tuesday for YT. Picnic outside the Laundrette then begin the holiday packing. Got a pastie for tea before being put through the wringer by SFC. Loved watching Mopo's Chelsea pass and move last night. They absolutely battered Everton (YAY!) and the lad Palmer printed his ticket to Gelsenkirchen in June.
Come on you RED & WHITE MACHINE!!!

afternoon all
We have problems with our waste (ooo 'er), fixed the original leak but in trying to put it back together again the waste trap now won't close properly… fecking plastic crap! So that's another hundred quid for a plumbers callout (plus will have to get a new tap as well because that's been on the cards but I didn't want to pay for callout just for that) and Fox knows when he can get here…
I fecking hate plumbing
The Gentlemen I thought was exactly what I was expecting… It was really fecking boring… Couldn't be bothered with it… Talk about "seen it before"… Ritchie does not have more than the one idea in this lifetime that's for sure!
did watch the end of FALLOUT though, quite enjoyed that but it was way too short and now I've got to wait for ages for the next instalment… Which is frustrating
I don't think anyone needs to get too excited about Saints, I hope I'm wrong, I actually really do, but I don't think they've got it in them.
And if they don't do it this year… You lot will be praising your love of the championship for years to come…
… At least Russ the egotwat will be on his bike to Brighton… They are more than welcome.
My team did win the pub quiz last night… And last week…
So that's good

My team did win the pub quiz last night… And last week… So that's good I’m not a fan of Guy Richie either. We’ve just started watching Fallout - that bit with the curtain in episode one… On the Ugly they call him the Brighton Buddha but I think they mean buddhist. If he gets us up then I’ll be very pleasantly surprised and I’ll eat my hat. Maybe Xavi Alonso wants a new challenge? Never trust anyone who fist pumps the crowd at the end of a game. It’s a massive red flag for me. I’d happily pump my fists in Klopp’s face though as he’s to blame for it. Talking of pumps, I just let out a little Tommy Squeaker while leaving the office so I hope my colleague was deep in thought at the time or I’ll be getting an unwanted reputation. We’ve got a new apartment lined up already and all agree that it’s even nicer than where we have been living so fingers crossed it all goes through OK. The rent is a bit higher but our previous rent didn’t go up in 5 years so I think we have a bit of catching up to do. It’s another Chinese landlord. What could possibly go wrong? At least they’ve OKed the cat as I thought he’d throw a spanner in the works. Next door neighbour is hot too - he was topless in the back garden when we went round to have a look at the place and I must find out his exercise regime. His missus isn’t bad either but she had a top on unfortunately.
