I can kinda believe he'dve written that (which isn't to say he did)... ..for better or worse, I doubt we'll ever have another manager of quite his integrity and sunny disposition again. There's only one Nigel Adkins, even if he's not out Nigel Adkins any more. Apparently there are seven Nigel Adkinsssss in the Southampton phone book.

By the way - my suspicion is that SRL's days are numbered. Don't think tactically he will be versatile enough for new manager. Parting of the ways in summer. Maybe sooner given Newcastle's obvious interest.

I see this picture has been picked up by the Echo this morning and it does seem as if it is genuinely Nigel's.
I just assumed it was probably a hoax.

LOL - sorry but that looks like adolescent cod psychology to me. 14 year old cover of rough book stuff. Can't believe Nige wrote that. You have to remember the intended audience for the message, no point being to intellectual or deep really

I don't think I have read, listened to or seen a manager like him before in football - purely with regard to how positive he was. Almost zero referee whingeing or excuse making. Almost never publicly disparaged his team at all.
I'd really like to think that being inspirational can have a massive effect on players and a club in and of itself.

Cod psychology or not, simple messages like those are are very effective when turning around a team that has taken some hits and forming an identity. Easy to understand, easy to live by if you actually want to succeed. Those that don't buy in at the start gradually come on board as they see the effects on the team, lose their embarrassment at trying something that seems trite and realise they are not being judged for their hesitance.
I'd be willing to bet that anyone who tries it for a year will notice a difference in their life and in those around them.
