Yes I did. His record suggests that we should have had those expectations as well. And up and until this tournament he's very much been his own man with regard to the U21s, playing who he wants in a formation that he wants to play and, generally, that has been very good football. Unfortunately he seems to have fallen victim to the "thou shalt toe the party line and play these Liverpool players and the other ones that the media deem good" line. Same as Capello did in SA. It's bizarre.
By the way, you still haven't come up with a solution.

Spain / Holland / Italy believe that exposing their young players to tournament football is vital, whereas England think that exposing their players to long haul luxury before sitting on the bench is more worthy. Our rivals are the Chicago Bulls of the 90's, we are the Harlem Globetrotters.
Spain had players in their squad that were: English Champion no 1 Goalie, 27 league appearances for Barcelona, the most coveted young Spaniard out there, Benfica's Europa League starting Centre Forward.....I could go on, and on......
Our FA Chairman, press and pundits think that the tournament is beneath Jack Wilshere. Pearce is a tool, but he was playing a bum hand......

Footballers "earn" 200k a week, yet they're too tired for the league cup/fa cup/Europa league/group stages of champions league/ 2 games in a week. They're burned out in the summer, so tournaments are out of the question. They're lazy conts ffs
