I take a very dim view of that.
Bristol City, that well known Cockney rhyming slang, have been leading the campaign to have it closed. A plague on their houses.

So in the week that that the lack of English under 21s has been in the news the PL are considering closing one of the most successful academies in the country. I hope they are also looking at the way Chelsea run training sessions for youngsters here in Hampshire in that case.

This perfectly highlights the ridiculous tension we have between national interest and premier league interest.
If they do us, let's just buy Bath City - very small club, should be easy to buy up as a feeder club.

Didn't Saints buy Doddsy from Bath City? It's obviously a productive area.
Saints will just have to set up a training centre in Atlantis instead. That's my crazy blueprint for future sporting success.

If all we've ever got out of the Bath academy is Jason Dodd.... He didn't come from the Bath Academy; we signed him from Bath City. Gareth Bale, on the other hand, would have had to up sticks and move his entire family if he wanted to go to a top academy with the capabilities to develop him in the best possible way. |

I believe we got Bale from over there, got picked up at some training session in that direction I Think I heard that's what the story was. Nathan Dyer I think as well, probably a couple of others, can't remember? It would be worth keeping on by fair means or foul if we could do it, feck Bristol, they don't make footballers, they just want to make money |
