And I can't work out who Shelvey is playing for. His passing success rate is 100% if he was a Norge.

fecking useless manager
however good they might be, some of them are by the way, some of them we won't go into… Anyway… As I was saying, you're never going to get past The bollocks Pearce is putting in their heads, maybe the next under 21 will know something about coaching football?
Undoubtedly a good player in his time but… Was he ever a good manager? I can't remember him doing well for any team he's been in charge of, did I forget someone?

Supported Norway soon as I found the Arsehole had dropped Clyne.
England were piss poor. First team to be knocked out - should have been more had the ref not bottled the penalty against Rose.

I see that now pundits are saying U-21 football is not useful for England. WTF?

Of course he dropped Clyne; it couldn't possibly be his fault they lost the first one, could it?! (& see my post in previous U21 fred). fecking cock.

As long as we choose meaningless friendlies over very useful tournament football experience what do we expect? Oxo/Welbeck/Wilshere/ all could have gone, plus more that don't come to mind.
Italy understand these tournaments, the lad who scored their goal against us played 37/38 games for second place Napoli this season. We had to rely on half a squad with 0 premiership appearances.
Pearce is a tool too, but the FA don't seem to see that the Hodgson/Pearce ticket is sending us back years in our development.

That Insigne lad (that I thought Clyne did OK against in their first match) was good again, till he got kicked off the park. Ref took a dim view and sent the Israeli off - so Italy breezed to a 4-0 win. They have some good nippers in that side too. Think we can safely write off the next decade before we have an England side worth watching. Wish I'd taken more notice in 1966 now. How could I have known England would be shite for the rest of my life FFS? England are to football are what Sri Lanka* are to ODI cricket. FACT. * EDIT: Sri Lanka can bowl a bit TBF. Cracking match that despite the low scores.

I met Pearce in hospitality at SMS the year we were in Div 1. It was my then 4 years old first game (Mrs family from Notts and massive forest fans), I never ask for autographs (as I'm super cool) but because it was boys first game, forest connection and all that I did. I approached very respectfully, explained it was boys 1st game and ask if he could sign programme. The look I got was as if i'd just walked poo all through his house. There were only about 5 of us in the room, not a word, smile, word to the boy, he did sign (i'll give him that), as we walked back to our seats son said "he wasn't very nice was he dad, had you upset him".
Liked him as a player, respect what he did as a player. As a manager pants and from the very brief meeting I had I can't say I was very impressed.

Loved the quote from Jan Aage Fjortoft in the Indy:
One team with players who want to play in England against players who play in England but want to go on holiday.

I couldn't be arsed to watch that. Preferred to see Norway v Italy. It was a fair old game despite the fact that 0-0 was enough to see them both through to the semis. With the match poised, unsurprisingly, at 0-0 the Ref gave Norway a 90th minute penalty - he alone knows what for; perhaps he had a bet on Norway. Anyhow, the big lad from the back slots it leaving Italy trailing in injury time. Feck me if they don't go and get an equaliser from the cheekiest of overheads! I'm really enjoying some of the football dished up in Israel. No surprise that Italy, Spain, Holland and Germany are better than England - that is a given. It has been an education to learn we are also worse than Norway and Israel. Glad it wasn't Pearce's fault though.
