He is barking mad. He forgot some other important stats like CL level players tend to have more appearances in CL games than days spent in prison. I seem to remember him saying Arsenal were looking to sign him when he was kicked out of Newcastle, but then ended up signing for QPR....

He's a pretty good player really and with a better attitude he might well have been playing CL football earlier in his career and also have more than 1 England cap. But unfortunately he is a liability. There's some kind of scale of risk-reward, where clubs will put up with Cantona for example, and he's no Balotelli, never mind a Cantona. He's also thick, for all his posturing, he says some incredibly stupid things. And I read a very revealing interview with him a couple of years ago where he was trying to paint himself as a changed man, but when discussing the Dabo incident he said something like "Dabo thought he was a big man, but he wasn't expecting someone to give it back to him", the tone was 'Dabo got what was coming to him'. No remorse at all for repeatedly punching someone who was already unconscious.

There's no mention of what the average Champions League Midfielder is selected from - all midfielders who played in the group stages.. the knockout rounds...?
He's not a bad player but the storm he continually creates on and off the pitch mean anybody would be mad to employ him. His chance to become a top player was at Newcastle, and they saw sense and got rid of him before he upset the whole apple cart.
Interesting fact: he's studying his UEFA 'A' coaching licence this summer. Seems Joey has an ambition to manage. Seriously what maverick chairman is going to go down that route...?

A fair summary of him from you both. A very good footballer, a complete tosser of a human being, despite all the protestations otherwise. Is he reformed? Would anyone give him the chance? I think if Marseille don't give him another opportunity in France then he may be struggling for a future in the playing side of the game given the sort of wages he is expecting.

An interesting Facts about Joey is that he hired a PR agency shortly before all this "wisdom" started to come out from his Twitter account.
I'm thinking he may have been prompted…

"A very good footballer" No he isn't....he is a good footy player and no more He is. And it's there for all to see. The problem is that it gets hidden in all the bullshit and behavioural issues that surround him on.
