Hello. Weather in Phildelphia means another night in Nashville. Would be good if it hadn't buggered up my Sunday afternoon. Getting home Tuesday morning now.

Morning everyone.
My tongue has swollen up to Jamie Oliver levels and I am still talking like Lester Piggot. Scool should be fun today...

Morning
Last of the warm days apparently.
Nice quiet afternoon watching foots on Sky. Chelsea played some lovely stuff but were aided by some pretty awful defending by Bolton. Arsenal did alright at Spurs and with better finishing might have got something from the game. At least the Van der Vaart goal keeps my Dream Team tally moving along nicely.
Think we have a transfer window coming up. Not going to rush into changes this time until I see who gets crocked in the next round of international games. Don't think Dan Agger has kicked a ball for me yet and Aguero limped off on Saturday clutching his groin so both those need looking at.
Will be having a night out. Well, I'm planning to attend only my second routine meeting of the IOW Family History group - one of the things I was deffo going to do when I retired! So far illness and, TBF, Monday Night Football has usually prevented me from attending.
Drew seems a lot better so hopefully we may get to see The Debt tomorrow after all. Was it good Baz?

Morning all. Saints were hot stuff at times in the second half. They nearly had three goal of the season contenders in one game.
Top 3 missed chances: 1) The one touch move which ended with their keeper blocking Chaplow 2) Chaplow hitting the post 3) Lallana smashing the crossbar
Looking at the final score it's hard to believe that Watford were all over Saints early on. One of their players had time to air kick in the box, fall over, get up and have another go before anyone thought to intervene! I hope they're not spending all their time doing tikki takka in training instead of practising defending. Saints couldn't string two passes together for the first twenty minutes but slowly for their act together.
In terms of individual performances, Fox had a good game. He's usually calm in possession and neatly got out of trouble a few times before launching moves. KD made a good save early in the second half when the game was in the balance and finally got a clean sheet. Richardson was like a man possessed in the second half as he went forward for a slice of the action. Lallana and Cork were quietly effective, Lambert took the penalties like MLT and Holmes popped up at the end with a feel good goal. Guly took his goal well too, tracked back and didn't waste possession as much as usual.
Now all Saints need to do is take that home form on the road. The away game at Derby is looking very tasty after their thrashing by Leicester on Saturday evening.
PS. Crashhot and I heard an interesting rumour about Cortese and Lallana but I won't repeat it on here because it's not the time or the place. Suffice it to say, he's not been a happy bunny since the Brum game and that might help explain why he can't seem to put any chances away at the moment. It's not appearing to have dampened overall team spirit though.

Morning Really enjoyed the game on Saturday. I can't remember seeing a Saints team so comfortable on the ball and so well prepared. Our extra fitness showed in the last quarter, Butterfield's pitch length run and shot typified this. Monday mornings are bad enough withoit having to spend the next two days in Reading. Sorry Yates but I just can't get my head around the place despite my best efforts. See you all later mongs

Got to go back to work today and I'm not sure I like it. But not yet, for now I will sip tea and let the soothing sounds of Endless Grinning Skulls wash over me.

Good Monday Morning.
Yesterday was a good example of that five minute job that expands rapidly into a major undertaking. After all the dramas of our water supply last Thursday and Friday, which were none of our making and 100% thanks to Wessex Water, the increased water pressure had led to the cold water tap in the kitchen dripping.
I was planning to have a nice relaxing day sitting in the garden, punctuated by a BBQ, so I thought I had plenty of time to change the washer, before going to get a Sunday paper. Amongst other changes in our water supply that I rapidly discovered, was that a small piece of metal had broken off the seal inside the tap itself (presumable done when the soil/grit had been ingested on Thursday), so a new washer made zero difference. I was then faced with changing the tap (on what was probably the hottest day of the year!).
Cutting a long story short, other problems than surfaced and it took me from about 10.30am until 5.20pm to get the tap and get it fixed and working. So I missed the whole day & no BBQ. Bah. Plus I have to now change the hot tap as well to match it's nice shiny new cold tap. Bah again.
I was consoling myself with how well things are ticking along at Saints, until I read that bit about Cortese and Lallana. Thanks Yately!

Wotcha Sun Freaks A misty morning in Sussex(E) but a clear blue sky visible - I might wander down to the course for an hour or so and get some practise in. Should I waste time on grass cutting, which does need doing, or not? The Debt .... an interesting film, Spot and worthwhile seeing. It's really two films, one part set in the 1960s and the other in the 90s - the earlier part is a typical, Deightonish, spy thriller set in East Berlin and very good it is too. The latter part is the moral dilemmas bit (Fact V Legend - how to cope with truth, agonise or ignore?) which does end up back as as an action thriller - this part was, for me, slightly less convincing. But the saving grace is some great acting even though it takes some belief to accept that the actors used for 60s bit grew to look like Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson and Cieran Hinds. We got back in time to watch MOTD2 - Fulham did well, didn't they. And Bagpuss complaining about disrespectful/abusive chanting at his match - surely he hasn't only just got around to noticing that sections of the crowd at matches these days are populated by ignorant morons who seem to have little or no social skills or saving graces. I think eugenics will be suggested as the way forward by certain people Tea needed while I ponder Mow V Golf Have a good day, y'all

Morning all. It really is beautiful outside again. Had to work yesterday morning but it wasn't too painful. In fact I'd rather do yesterday's stuff than this morning's stuff because trying to explain the UKBA to people whose first language is not English is always more painful than giving out leaflets.

Morning all. Typical Monday morning, in that I wish it wasn't happening. Frustrating at work because today and tomorrow are supposed to be busy and my client have got rid of most of the resources from the project i am working on, so I have to sit 'on call' just in case something terrible happens, when in reality I know it won't. So, in short, I have to be in front of my computer rather than on the golf course. Bah.
Shame I missed the game on Sat as it sounds like an excellent performance in the second half. Having said that, im at one of those stages where i seem to have more important things to do/ deal with/ worry about than footy at the moment. Having said that, a Lallana/ Cortese scrap could be added to the list of things to worry about now. We could do without that, though I'm sure Adam is mature enough to not let anything impact on the team as a whole.

Shirley you just have to speak loudly and slowly...?!? Morning all, nice out but I'm in a tin can. Still at least I'm not sweating like a pervert lurking in a La Senza changing rooms yet. Still not completely over the cold, but don't feel as bad as last week. Damn fine day yesterday. Managed to finish off the mowing, despite the tropical temperatures, then a mate popped by and we had a bbq and chewed the fat; afterwards we watched From Hell; what a cracking film, dunno how I missed it at the time since it was an Alan Moore number, but it was certainly worth watching. I'm just going to bask in the glory of the table and the 2.5 goals per game stat and ignore any scurrilous rumours, thanks.

Morning!
Great weekend! Afternoon Beer and BBQ on Saturday with Mr & Mrs NorthWindsorSaint, which started getting quite messy sometime around the third goal. It then got a bit raucous around 11:30pm (which, apparently, my neighbour didn't appreciate - understandable if you have heard Mrs SS sing!!!).
Sunday was a day of recovery!
Working from home today, little Miss SS starting nursery.
Have a good 'un!
