Clearly there is more to come as the case now moves back to the High Court.
I have to say, watching football in pubs is uttershite. I've never seen the attraction in having your viewing interrupted by hordes of beer-swilling chavs. There are only two valid places to watch football from:
- my armchair, with a spaniel on my lap
- Row P, Block 10, SMS.

Good news. Now they might realize that it should be legal to receive Sky in France. It's a fecking disgrace that you can't get tv from any european country in any european country. Free movement of people, goods and services, my arse.

Come on Chris.
The Frogs have always made up their own versions of EU rules. If they don't get their own way the tractors or artics or trawlers will find something to blocade till they do!

This is true and the French would love to have their own version of sky. But the rules here come from the European Broadcasting Union, I suspect, protecting their own rather than their public.

It won't make any difference. The PL only gets a relatively small amount of revenue from the European braodcasters compared to what the Far East, Asia, etc pay. So all that will happen is that Sky will pay a bit more than they do for the UK rights and buy the rights for the whole of Europe. They will then sell the Euro rights to the various national braodcasters. No doubt part of that deal will be that they do not sell their services to people in the UK. So we will be back to square one, anyone watching the PL in the UK via a foreign broadcaster will be doing it illegally.

Not sure Sky will be allowed to do that?

That's the whole point of what I'm trying to say SF73. French people living in any part of Europe, including the UK, should be able to watch French TV - as should I be able to watch British TV in France. The EBU have sewn it all up for the broadcasters and the punters in the street get shafted - again. How can the politicians claim to make one Europe and deny its citizens the right to watch the TV of their choice?

Not sure Sky will be allowed to do that? I can't see why not. There's nothing illegal there. If the PL want to sell the entire Euro rights to Sky and let them then sell on to RTL, Canal Plus, etc they are in their rights to do so.

Pub "fans" are glory hunting, replica shirt with Rooney on the back, student type mongs that have no idea what it's like supporting a football team. Also, Africans that go in there to watch Arsenal, and don't buy a drink whilst in there BAN IT FROM PUBS AND GET TO THE BAR UNCHALLENGED FPS
