I think the bottom 3 will now remain as it is. Huddersfield are almost done, and Fulham needed to win today to stay in touch. Cardiff just won’t pick enough points up to stay in touch with us, Newcastle or Burnley, all of whom are picking up points regularly. Palace could get dragged in if they lose against us, but again they will also pick up points consistently enough to steer clear of any real danger. I actually think it could be the dullest relegation scrap for years; all done and dusted by end of March.

Simply put, they are considerably worse than everyone else and will go down.

At the beginning of the season I was worried by Fulham, but they let loads of goals in.

Managers are makimg the difference this year. Huddersfield's recent managerial problem have just about finished any chance they had. Fulham need a different type of manager to give them hope, a BFS charater rather than Mr nice guy Ranieri, totally unsuited to a relegation fight. Warnock has long gone by his sell by date and will make no contribution to a great escape from Cardiff City IMO. Generally the teams in the PL are a reflection of thier managers this year, top and bottom.

Generally the teams in the PL are a reflection of thier managers this year, top and bottom. Thankfully Ralph is proving that good managering transcends relegation battles and chasing trophies. Play football that wins matches, have a plan for each player, clearly communicate, coach, motivate, get results. Doesn’t matter whether you’re fighting relegation or top of the league. The day of the ‘Relegation Specialist’ is disappearing, and with it charlatans like Hughes and Pardew (I hesitate to include BFS in the list, as in fairness to him he DOES do those things- but still, he should retire and Fulham were right never to consider him when they had a Premier League winning manager available to them).

I would say it's called "management" and whether it's in football or any other walk of life these are the basics. Make it clear what people should do. Don't make them do what they can't do (set them up to fail). Give them the tools and training to do it. Then get out of the way and let them enjoy it. It makes me sad when I see so many people on here unhappy at work because their managers don't get this. Why do you think JWP and Redmond have been performing poorly for the last couple of years and now suddenly they're brilliant. It's not rocket science FFS.

As an aside, I think he's put about 15m-20m on the value of a few players too (combined).. JWP, Bedders, Redz in particular and our academy players had no worth, they do now.. Now I'm not suggesting we should looking to sell but everything feels so much healthier.
I'd love to see the big money signings out on loan come back and see what Ralph can do with them..
I wonder what Hughes is thinking now?

I wonder how many times the bottom three in January have remained the bottom three come May? Nearly always at least one of them has a renaissance. I can see Huddersfield are gone. But Warnock and Cardiff will have blood and guts about them and doubtless pull off a few shocks and wins here and there. Fulham with Claudio...maybe he can get them ticking for a good 10 match run. I suspect there will be a few twist and turny things to twist and turn still.

The last two managers achieved virtually none of those things, Puel managed to achieve most, but didn't manage the most important, which was to let the players enjoy what they were doing. Anyone could see the abundance of talent we have, we just needed a really good manager to come in and tap into it.

Reading a couple of Everton sites this morning we now seem to have a reputation as a hard working outfit, rather than a talented side. I have no issues with that. At the moment!
