www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-7367243/Premier-League-Police-intervene-trouble-breaks-stands-St-Marys.html I wonder is this is linked to what is happening to the hospitality areas? I think what used to be The Dell bar at SMS was re-branded last season as 'The Gasworks' and fans could go there for a (£22.50) beef burger if they so choose. Funnily enough there was little demand and what was once a heaving pre-match bar became a ghost town. Well, the club have doubled up there efforts this season and now you have to pay £150 just to gain entry to the venue (for the privilege of ordering a £22.50 burger). Likewise it was apparently full of tumbleweed on Saturday but interestingly away fans ARE allowed to purchase tickets to there and from there can sit in the Kingsland stand which seems a recipe for disaster.... Is there a conscious effort to make us a 'boutique' club? I have also seen this: tickets.saintsfc.co.uk/PagesPublic/Hospitality/HospitalityPackageDetails.aspx?product=PC19MU&packageid=100000000586&availabilitycomponentid=100000000464 I would have thought it more fitting if they had added £85 to the price to make it £1,885. (n.b you still need to purchase two additional match tickets to be allowed to watch the game...) Given the hundreds of millions of pounds we get from the PL do we really need to be screwing 'customers' out of their hard earned wedge for things like this and the PoW Fanzone?

Pretty sure Away Fans aren't allowed to purchase for The Gasworks. At £150 a pop for a nice ticket (say £50) and a drink and programme (£10) that looks like £90 to avoid a late walk. Anyone buying that needs their head examined anyway.
Interestingly £150 used to be the price point for average hospitality, but that seems to have shot up in price. Some of 'the experiences' are nuts priced. If they are selling through those I'd be amazed.....

What I read probably alluded to locally based fans of the big boys who are on the Saints' database using this as a way of getting tickets to the match when their team is in town.

Yes, I thought that looking at the pictures. They all seem to feature the same bloke. I am pretty sure there were a couple of Liverpool fans near us, but at least they had the decency and common sense to keep their mouths shut when Liverpool scored.

While we are on criticising Saints catering, I was pretty hacked off that they have started serving alcohol at the counter we usually use in the Kingsland concourse, so now when we go for a coffee we have the alcohol lovers clogging up our queues as well. The problems were compounded by the latest intake of staff being unable to cope.

p.s. are they back to serving pints instead of bottles now? That'll slow things down.

p.s. are they back to serving pints instead of bottles now? That'll slow things down. Yep, they are using recyclable plastic pint 'glasses'. They have to put the plastic glasses into special bins when finished with and they get washed and are then ready to go for the next match. The stated aim is to stop serving anything that comes in a plastic bottle. At this rate, I can see that I am going to have to dig out the old thermos flask again.......

As you say, prob a good idea to have the one area for people not wanting to purchase alcohol.
