Forget those useless men, Saints Women began their season with a 5-1 away win at Poole Town. And that's with their best player out with an ACL injury.

Are they having to play in the same division as last season? (despite them seeming to win every game 10-0?)

Are they having to play in the same division as last season? (despite them seeming to win every game 10-0?) That is almost exactly what I was just wondering. I see that the OS report on the game comes under the general heading "FA Womens National League Div One South West"

I see that the OS report on the game comes under the general heading "FA Womens National League Div One South West" Looks like that's the same division which is kinda pointless. I assume last season was 'expunged'... Seems silly to keep them in that league as they will win every game by multiple goals. OneBeat provided us with this explanation last season:

The season wasn't finished so no promotion or relegation. Women's football is not as important as men's football. Obviously.

Rightly or wrongly, the massive scorelines do give a negative impression of the women's game from the outside and the authorities do need to work on making sure there's a better balance. If that meant making executive decisions to promote teams without necessarily basing it on completed seasons then they should have done.

Are they having to play in the same division as last season? (despite them seeming to win every game 10-0?) Yep, same division. Last season was just wiped. They had a youngster from the development squad playing yesterday as their best player, Ella Morris, did her ACL training with England just before lockdown.
