The problem is that any money recouped by transfers is just going into servicing the huge debts of a company still running at a loss. On the Saints Fan forum the other day both Hasenhüttl and Semmens were at pains to stress that any money from the sale of players was immediately available to use for purchase of replacements. So no, nothing from the sales of players is being used to service any debts there may be. To suggest otherwise is simply false news. True.. ..although there is some circumstantial evidence that we're not reinvesting it given the expensive out / cheap in strategy we're adopting.

I'm sure the money from transfers will be used for new players. Just not all of it.

In Brum they are saying Villa will pay £50M for JWP and we'll accept it.
Dig out the EFL roadmap.

Gary Lyanco? Seems about our level of signing. Squad player for a team who finished 17th in La Liga last season. Was dropped from the first team, came back in for his team's 7-0 thrashing and then was dropped again for the remainder of the season. I guess at least he's got some experience of embarrassing defeats.

Linked to Leeds a year ago, this page tbrfootball.com/five-facts-on-reported-leeds-united-target-lyanco/ says: "Lyanco is a natural centre-half, but also has the capacity to play as a left-back if needed. He was also deployed as a holding midfielder on a couple of occasions last term, and his versatility could make him very useful to Marcelo Bielsa." Hopefully he's the versatile cover. 8 yellow cards in 23 games last season! Let's hope that there's a proper first choice CB coming too, because the stats aren't too good.

I think it fair to say that the Torino fans aren't overly distressed with the thought of losing him...

The Athletic see the Lyanco from Torino deal as probable, as negotiations are proceeding quickly. I have no idea what Lyanco is like, but I notice that young Dynel Simeu, who we signed from Chelsea at the end of last month, has been promoted to the First Team squad. The Athletic also think that will leave enough for a second left back, as currently Perraud is the only left back.

so basically we put into the black box - CB / LB / CM and he's the best utility man option in our budget.
