Not quite Spain v Italy but another decent match where the stars aligned for Southgate's men. I love the team spirit of Southgate's England - he really has built a club like atmosphere from a collection of talented stars. TBF Denmark have that too so this was always going to be England's toughest task. Penalty was very dodgy but Sterling has played so well he probably earned getting away with that dive. Whilst I like England's players and coaches I'm still embarrassed by our fans. How bloody lowlife to boo National Anthems? What is wrong with these cretins? At least, with fuller stadiums the boos of the Mongs when England take the knee are now drowned out by applause. Keeping my head down till Sunday as the hype will go into hyperdrive and arseholes who don't know a football from a cheese omelette will be pontificating to anyone stupid enough to listen. Southgate and his coaches face their biggest test against Italy. This is the right final as the tournament's best two sides will be there. I would have loved to see a footrace between Spinazzola and Walker but sadly that can't happen - the Italian has undergone an operation and won't play again till 2022. Tennis and Athletics take over till Sunday night. Off to the farm mit hunds!

Really proud of what Southgate has done. The improvement from the days of Uncle Woy, McLaren, Capello, et al is immense. Sometimes you just get a manager who is perfect at managing at a national level (and in all probability will be terrible at club management) - as was the case with Coleman. Just give the job to Sir Gareth for as long as he wants it. I know, I know, I know we should be magnanimous in victory but I popped over to the twittersphere post match and was genuinely shocked not only by the number of Scots, Irish and Welsh fans who were wanting England to lose but also how many English EU fundamentalists who were also thinking the same. I guess uncontrolled love of a trading bloc can addle one's brain! So nice to have finally made a final in my lifetime, it won't even feel too bad if we lose to Italy but hopefully we've got one more game left in us!

In fairness Boris does come a poor second to the most stupid looking country leader at a football match!
