Why would you drop KWP? What sort of message does that send to the players? If you’re desperate to play Livramento then drop Walcott and play him on the right of midfield. Livramento provided more attacking threat than Walcott anyway. I still want to adopt Theo and it pains me to say this but he’s a terrible footballer.

He is definitely not a battler, if we look back on his career he has always looked good in a better team when they spend much of a game attacking. He is not at all suited to Ralph's preferred style in my opinion.

I didn't watch the game, yet it sounds like I've seen it several times in the last year. Ralph needs to find a way to kill games, or it'll cost him his job.
The starting lineup and odd substitutions are a big part of it. It sounds like Livramento had a good first half, but struggled in the second. It reminds me of what happened with Luke Shaw early on- I remember a game where after an hour he got subbed for Danny Fox, even though he was doing well. A teenager who had NEVER played a game of that intensity before for 90 minutes can't be expected to dig in when the game is getting away from the team in the same way that an experienced KWP would have done. I feel quite justified saying this even though I didn't see it, because it's just common sense. Likewise, bringing on S Armstrong at that point seemed obvious.
On McCarthy, he's not great, but I don't really get the outcry when you see that Forster is the alternative. I honestly don't think there's much between them. I'd probably have chosen Forster, yes, but it would have been a marginal call.
I'm not looking forward to the Man Utd game.

Fair points on the first couple I've nothing against McCarthy per se, other than he's like some sort of singularity that sucks goals into the net. Forster may not be the keeper he was, but he does get in the way of the ball occasionally.

Maybe it's a plan to keep all of our decent players off the pitch to avoid the harm it will be doing to their confidence getting beaten every week and we'll see them when we next have a winnable game? (QPR (h) August 2022)
