I've long held the belief that Nike kits are invariably shite so nothing surprises me when they unveil new shirts. However this time they have dropped a proper bollock by tampering with the Cross of St George. The Gammon are frothing and the Mail, Express, GB News, 30p Lee, Richard Keys and all the usual knobheads are bursting blood vessels in their intense fury. Surely it is just another poorly designed piece of tat that only w@nkers would wear.

It does seem like an unnecessary tampering. But then perhaps it was also very deliberate. Was always going to get the right sort of frothing moron ranting and therefore get loads of attention. You know what they say, no publicity is bad publicity

yet again, how f-ed is our country that a lead item on the news is the 'wokeism' of this kit, commented on by politicians.
Meanwhile England cant heat or feed itself

“The England flag is a symbol of unity in our country” apparently.
Funny enough I don’t feel any connection to those who wear the England flag.
As it is I don’t care about this England shirt, apart from not being in favour of these pointless little flourishes on any team’s kit.

I don't understand why it is "woke". As far as I can see, it is just a meaningless design flourish. If it's aim was to get attention, then it has worked.

I've quite enjoyed the twitter accounts that are pointing out the flags at England games that 'deface' the flag with words and club crests etc... of course "ThAtS dIFfarAaanT"
I don't get the woke reference? Do people think it's a rainbow or something?
Yes, it was a daft thing to do, but ffs how is this headline news!

I was listening to someone the other day talk about how 'woke' is used as a slur is ludicrous. Was it woke to grant women the vote or end racial segregation?
And if someone is anti-woke, what does that mean they are? Literally, like... they're unwoke, so... a zombie? Or some kind of Old Etonian from 50 years ago harking back to the simplicity of how the world was when opinions were only voiced in public by the ruling classes?
And therein lies the lie in all this. Most of the shitstirrers of anti-wokeism tend to be Old Etonians trying to get down as with da ordinary man, siding with them against the horror of people (rightly or wrongly) trying to view the world as more complexed or nuanced than we are all comfortable with in our heart of hearts.

Woke basically seems to mean not a c u n t. I'm pretty sure most people are woke but there's a very vocal minority of people with strange prejudices against things that have no impact on their lives that want to go back to some fantasy version of the past that doesn't actually exist.

Of far greater concern to me is that the shirt itself is overpriced shite.
How can people feck up what should be a plain white shirt so many times sine 1970…?
I liked the ‘82 kit and a few of the ones since, but on the whole they are simply crap.
And £125 a pop…? That’s scandalous.

surely it would be woke if they got rid of the cross… I mean… It's all a bit single religion isn't it? What about multiculturalism? What about embracing all the religions?
I'm an atheist so I'd be in favour of no crosses whatsoever!

When I first glanced at it I thought it was including the Help for Heroes logo.

If you are going to have the cross of St George then it should just be red. Or no-one will know what it is.
This thing has more in common with the Chevrolet logo.
Like so many things nowadays the change is just stupid and pointless.
Dos’nt much matter anyway as at £125 a pop the will only sell about 6?

That’s a good point, is it even supposed to be the cross of St George? Could just be another bit of pointless embellishment.
