Please, please don't let either of them get injured.

Brooks came on, then was substituted. I'm confused about that too. He didn't look injured

Brooks has been ill apparently. They didn't think he'd be able to last the full game so had him as a sub, but evidently couldn't even complete that short period.
I would guess that the fact he played at all probably means he can't be far off recovering, but I'd expect a bench role for him on Friday maybe at best.

Even that 20m cameo showed what a good player he is. Hope he is better soon.
Bedders was good. Poland were generally "Land of the giants" and Robert Page (who was interviewed in English) explained that was why they brought Kiefer Moore in - to compete in both boxes. Poland set up 3-5-2 with two scrawny wing backs and a lot of big blokes. Lewandowski played as a 10 off another striker and Bedders was the right of the back 3. He looked the footballer and was often the one playing the ball out like Russ has taught him to.
Defensively he did OK. I think the commentators were suggesting that isolating him against Brennan Johnson was part of the Wales plan. He did a lot of running but was never embarrassed and had a further 10m against a fresh Dan James before coming off looking shagged out. They brought on another giant who spent his time following Moore and wrestling him to the ground. Outside the box it was penalised, inside not so.
Last 10m of extra time Poland found another gear and Wales did well to hang on for the shoot out. The first 9 penalties were nigh on unstoppable although Kiefer's went in off the bar which gave them a fright. Szczęsny is a canny old bugger plying his trade at Juventus these days. You knew he would save one eventually and it happened to be Dan James' at 4-5 down.
Fine margins.
