I’m not feeling great… the curry we had last night is playing havoc with my guts and I really hope this doesn’t cause a full on flare up. I feel like I’ve been punched in the stomach and 299 said my guts sound like a washing machine. I can just about take a mild veg curry from time to time, but last night’s was a bit spicier than I normally risk, so all my own fault. It was only mottar paneer and a dal, FFS.
Need to be fit, because Dad and I are ticking a massive one off the bucket list this week…flying to Charlotte on Thursday, driven from there to Augusta and spending Friday at the Masters. To say I’m excited is a massive understatement. It really feels like the trip of a lifetime, particularly as I’m being absolutely rinsed for the ticket, but I need to do it once and there’s no one I’d rather go with than my old man.
Can’t even finish my coffee. Plain purple socks. Have listened to Tone’s Monday track and will listen to it again.

Monday, right.
I have returned from Norfolk with a cold and sinus pain. I knew going to a gig in Great Yarmouth wasn’t a good idea. Still I got to meet a Peruvian band I interviewed a while ago, and handed over copies of the issue of our zine with them in. They asked if they could have a photo with me, I said yes, but then they got a video camera out. I felt a bit awkward.
I’m taking it easy today, and so far have only walked the dog and sat in the garden for a bit.

I love Norfolk - one of my favourite places in the world (I have Norwich roots on my Mum’s side of the family) - but very little of Yarmouth could be described as “Great”.

Afternoon all. It’s warm here again so I’m sitting outside work having lunch.
Yesterday I was at a bit of a loose end so I shelled out for a month of PL football and enjoyed the frenetic Man U v Liverpool game. Sometimes those games are hyped to death and boring but this one was good.
The other games were less gripping. Spurs didn’t have too much trouble with Forest and Chelsea made very hard work of drawing with the Blades.
I even turned over to watch the Turkish cup final but Icardi had already scored and then it was abandoned. Never a dull moment in Turkey!
It was so warm over the weekend that I even had trouble getting to sleep last night and I’m knackered today but at least it’s going quickly. I wonder what Saints team will turn up tomorrow evening.

That makes me sad, I'm not sure I could manage life without spicy food; even if I do a fryup my portion (steady) will have chilli fried greens and most roasts I do have something spiced (eg carrots with honey and cinnamon for yesterday's dinner)..it doesn't necessarily have to be hot, but a bit of zing from something

Afternoon
The heat's certainly not a problem here (although Sunday was relatively sunny and warm before the wind got up at teatime) as it's currently pissing it down. Despite that I also had trouble sleeping last night.. always the way, sleep fine Fri/Sat nights then can't sleep on Sun so I'm knackered going into the week.
Thankfully it's only a short week again as we're off to meet some mates in a cottage in the Cotswolds for a birthday addendum on Fri, but that does mean I have to cram a busy week into 4 days.
No footer for me after Saints ruined it on Sat, but we did finish off This Town, which I found very entertaining.

The "Silver Darlings" or whatever they call that Museum in a converted herring smoking house is brilliant. By far the best thing in Norfolk (after Sandringham). King's Lynn is my town of choice though.

As we walked to the gig in Great Yarmouth there appeared to be a fair taking up most of the town. It felt like we were in the last few scenes of Zombieland. I was happy to get to the venue and see all the grubby old punks stood outside.
