Morning Scummers
Up and out but no work today, yay! Instead we're at the airport to go meet some mates in a airbnb in the cotswolds for a combined birthday weekend (2 of theirs as well as mine)
Consequently will miss tomorrow's games, so it might finally be a good one... they always play better when I can't watch.
Tea, about to have an egg may sarnie to upset the other passengers Airport noises Angry Spongebob turquoise

Nice day here. This time next week I'll be on the ferry to that GB and heading down west for the first time since 2019. Can't do much actively beyond walking Bart but driving through Dartmoor and the flower-bedecked lanes of West Devon with the windows down can only be good for the soul. Be good to meet up with my pals Paul and Annie: I was their best man in Lytham St Anne's at the end of that hot Summer of '77.
Great night of European football - just watched the highlights on TNT.
West Ham were aware of the perils of "Laterkusen" but still fell victim to it despite keeping Die Werkself at bay for 80m. When Bay04 can bring the likes of Hincapie, Tella, Boniface and Hoffmann off the bench for the last 1/4 against a tiring defence, they will always find those elusive goals.
Poor old Scousers looked stunned to get dicked by Atalanta but I've seen Gasparini's team bloody the noses of all the big Serie A sides. Their front 3 are a handful and the man-to-man defending kept Klopp's creative players in a straitjacket. Won't be pretty in Bergamo. The other ties are closer.
In the Conf all 4 ties are in the balance. Olympiakos looked home and hosed at 3-0 but Fenerbache's 2 late goals (including one from Dusan Tadic formerly of this parish) has kept their hopes alive.
Thing I liked most was how beautiful and smart both Lille and Marseilles looked last night. Presumably UEFA won't allow them to wear the fly-posted billboards they wear in Ligue 1 on Euro nights. There is hardly a space on shirts, shorts and now socks without some frigging ads on it. To think we look to France for style yet their football kits are filth!
Bart to the farm, Hazel visit then home for Hope Street and lunch...

Masters Friday…
I feel like a kid at Christmas… haven’t been this excited for years.
Sharing a room with my old man was a dreadful mistake, though… it’s 5:15 am. Dad’s alarm went off at 4:45. Mine is set for 5:45. We need to get a shuttle bus from our hotel to the course at 6:30.
It’s gonna be a tiring day and I’m starting it from a baseline of ‘absolutely knackered’.
I love my dad dearly, but the only thing that’s stopping me from killing him so I can turn the lights back out and get another hour’s shut-eye is the thought that they probably still have Old Sparky plugged in in these parts.
Need a coffee, but I can’t figure out how to boil water in the weird machine we have. Ankle socks under my golf shoes No music, just the sounds of my Dad farting about doing stuff unnecessarily early…grr…

I've heard tickets are ridiculously difficult to obtain. My b-i-l managed to get to watch one of the practice days a couple of years back but even that was difficult. Are you having a Pimento Cheese sandwich ffs?

I can’t wait for a pimento cheese sandwich and will be bringing home my chair and a gnome…

Had a surprise last night. I hadn’t been to a gig for a while, so took a chance on Theatre Of Hate at Papillon. I haven’t really listened to then for years, so wasn’t expecting much. They were really really good.
Had an eye test this morning, my dodgy eye is still deteriorating, but it was cool to see all the pictures of my eye and have it all explained. I didn’t understand it all, but appreciated the thought. I’m now in a cafe in Lyndhurst drinking tea with S, my mum, my sister and niece.

Did you get the tickets from a 3rd party? Just back at the hotel - just an amazing day. It was supposed to be a one-off bucket list job. This morning Dad said we should go again next year… I said deffo..! We went with these guys, who were excellent - luxurygolfholidays.comThey buy tickets from members. You clearly like your golf… you should do it - you won’t regret it! It’s Disneyland for golfers 😁
