Isn't it easier just to try and educate the morons to put empties in the, already available, recycling bins?

It’s truly staggering that 5.5bn plastic bottles are sent to landfill annually. Shameful.

I take my empties to the supermarket, put them in a magic receptacle that adds up all the different deposit amounts and gives me a money off voucher (which I always then put in the charity donation box because I’m so right on). People raid bins for returnables so it’s like a circular economy thing.

Until you get stuck behind someone with a trolley full of different individual bottle varieties.

When I was a kid we would search the bushes and ditches round the park for glass bottles, then we’d take them back the the shop (I forget which one), and get a couple of pence for each one.
