Well, i think that confirms it - we'd run out of cash / FFP room without Mara going.
Also suggests that though the manager always takes a straight bat to protect players in press conferences, he has come round to our way of thinking on the GK.
Potentially a player that dislodges Bazunu as well as McCarthy.

I do get you... right now I'm happy.. What would you have done? Who would you have tried to sign? It's difficult as us fans don't have the extensive coaching network a club needs in all 4 corners of the World nowadays but if we were serious about staying up we would have bought a CF (as Benners said it's not easy, but also not impossible), a keeper (Russ's blindsport) and some players of a proven quality (like O'Reilly). What we've done is sign a number of players all of which would stay with us if we got relegated which tells it's own story. I also think the KWP issue is down to this. I would think we gave him a low ball offer as we are expecting to go down and did not want to be saddled with his wages for another 3 years if his form tails off and there is little interest for him next season. The real issue is we don't know quite how bad the financial situation is/was. At least promotion should have gone a long way to addressing this. I wouldn't say this was a good window (from a fan's perspective of wanting to win games and stay up) but it is a sensible one. I totally get you...Maybe swap out a couple of the younger signings for a solid prem player would have been more sensible... but... |

I wouldn't expect it to be announced until late tomorrow, at the earliest.
It does seem to have been agreed between the clubs and with the player. Medical to come???!!

It seems the wording from “de telegraaf” was a bit premature. Not an agreement yet between the clubs. Expectation is that Feyenoord is willing to cooperate with a deal so shouldn’t be too difficult. |

Seems to have played more as a CM. Not many assists or goals but quite a lot of appearances at his age for a big club. U-20 international.
Wolves were linked with him for about 10-15m earlier in the window. I feel we really should be needing the cash...we're already trying to offload a promising but relatively ineffectual South American midfielder ...?
