JWP to Forest is happening. I'm sad. I'd have liked him back, plus I can only see him becoming a journeyman now when he could have demented his place her as a club legend captaining us back to the PL. Good luck to him. At least we’ve already played them once. |

JWP is proven in the PL, Downes isn't. But Downes is much younger and will the opportunity for us to turn a profit on which JWP wouldn't have. |

Err…isn’t he potentially a lot better than Manning and Taylor in the long run? It reminds me of when we sold Targett and then could really have done with him only shortly afterwards. |

Good deal for both clubs, they get a very promising youngster who was unsettled with Saints and we get £10M, which is much needed at the moment. |

This is a great example of what happens when you block a promising young player’s pathway. Very annoying. Still, it seems like relatively good money. I hope we have a decent sell-on too… Brentford won’t be buying him for the long term. |
